Overview

As Lead Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of 44.01’s mineralization hubs in Oman, the UAE, and future global locations. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, project management, stakeholder engagement, and innovative problem-solving to deliver safe, scalable, and sustainable CO₂ sequestration solutions. 44.01’s mineralization sites will be designed to sequester thousands of tons of CO₂ annually, integrating Direct Air Capture (DAC), industrial captured CO2, CO₂ transport, processing, and permanent sequestration technologies.

This role will require working cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, construction, permitting, and commercial teams, as well as external partners such as DAC technology providers, Point Source Capture (PSC) Technology Providers, emitters, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) firms, and governmental agencies if needed.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute project work plans, engineering packages, and bid proposals for on-surface and sub-surface infrastructure related to CO₂ mineralization.
  • Oversee end-to-end project development from feasibility studies to detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Develop risk management strategies and proactively address project challenges, bottlenecks, and stakeholder concerns.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, consultants, and contractors throughout project lifecycles.
  • Coordinate technical evaluations, and system integration efforts for DAC, PSC CO₂ Biogenic CO₂, processing, and sequestration technologies.
  • Manage the scope and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), and ensure projects comply with regulatory and environmental requirements.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Lead stage-gate project reviews, ensuring key milestones and approvals are met.
  • Monitor procurement, supply chain logistics, and contractor performance to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Actively engage with technology partners, suppliers, DAC providers, OEMs, EPC firms, and regulators to ensure successful project execution.
  • Drive collaboration between engineering, project management, and commercial teams to align project objectives with business strategy.
  • Provide regular status updates, reports, and presentations to senior leadership.
  • Conduct frequent site visits to oversee construction and commissioning activities. Willing to work from site as per business requirements.
  • Champion a strong HSSE culture, ensuring all engineering and construction activities meet strict safety and environmental standards.

The Role

Ideal Profile

Profile required for the position: Project Manager

  • Professional with a degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related careers.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office / MS Project
  • Advanced English
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Project Evaluation (desirable).
  • PMP or similar project certification (desirable).
  • 5 years of project management experience.
  • At least 1 year (of the above) managing software projects. 1 year (of the above) managing insurance projects (desirable).

Job Purpose:

The SAP Project Manager will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of SAP solutions to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role requires expertise in SAP S/4HANA implementations (public or private cloud) and SaaS solutions like SAP SuccessFactors, Ariba, etc, along with hands-on knowledge of at least one SAP module (functional or technical). The SAP Project Manager will oversee SAP projects, ensure seamless integration and operation of SAP systems while align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead end-to-end SAP projects, including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, configuration, and integration.
  2. Collaborate with business users to understand, prioritize, and manage requirements effectively.
  3. Work with cross-functional and technical teams to plan implementation activities, resolve dependencies, and ensure timely delivery.
  4. Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address challenges.
  5. Prepare and present regular project status updates to Management and business stakeholders.
  6. Ensure SAP system readiness to accommodate complex and dynamic changes.
  7. Coordinate with teams across multiple SAP modules and non-SAP applications if required.
  8. Manage resources efficiently throughout the project development lifecycle.
  9. Align project development and delivery processes with SAP Activate methodologies.

Requirements - Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Strong project management skills with the ability to define clear timelines and deliverables.
  2. Technical expertise to propose solutions and engage effectively with vendors.
  3. Preferred knowledge of the SAP S/4HANA Any one of Functional or Technical Modules.
  4. High-Level understanding on SAP Functional Modules like, Finance, Sourcing & Procurement, Sales, Inventory Management, SuccessFactors, etc.
  5. High-level understanding of ABAP, ABAP on HANA, BADI, RFC, Web Services, REST APIs, and related technologies.
  6. Minimum 10 years of SAP professional experience, with at least 4 years in managing SAP deliveries, including implementation and support projects.
  7. Strong understanding of Agile processes (SCRUM, KANBAN) , SAP Activate methodology and best practices.
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new challenges.
  9. Working knowledge on Microsoft Projects, or any project management tool.
  10. Experience working with SAP public cloud, private cloud, and SaaS solutions.
  11. Familiarity with SAP practices and tools

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP Project Management, PMP, Prince) are highly desirable.
  3. Commitment to continuous learning, including obtaining SAP certifications and staying updated with industry trends and advancements.

We are hiring an Enterprise Project Manager

Location: This is a Globally remote role.

The role entails

  • Ensuring programs and projects are delivered within the schedule, scope, cost, budget and resources expectations
  • Identifying key technical and project risks and issues and actively put mitigating actions in place
  • Maintaining strong customer focus and working with all key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
  • Conducting regular status meetings and business reviews with customers and providing direction when needed
  • Managing the delivery schedule of critical third party deliverables for the project
  • Advocating to customers the appropriate technologies from Canonical's portfolio
  • Driving project success while managing risks

What we are looking for in you

  • Experience in Enterprise IT Programs, Process Improvement, and Software Engineering Project Management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience leading cross-cultural, remote and global project teams and customers.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Deep understanding of Linux, Open Source, and Cloud Technologies
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline
  • Project Management Certification, preferably PMP or equivalent certification
  • Agile Project Management certification, preferably Scrum Master or equivalent certification
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
