Team Lead – Olefin Processing Unit & NGLE (Process Engineering)

Suhar, Oman | Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Sector
Full-time | Residential | Team Management Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Process Engineering Team Lead to oversee and optimise operations in Olefin Processing Unit and Natural Gas Liquids Extraction (NGLE) units. You’ll lead a team of process engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide deep technical and strategic direction to improve process performance, quality, and efficiency across plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of 8 engineers across Olefin Processing Unit & NGLE areas.

  • Drive continuous improvement in operations, energy efficiency, and cost optimisation.

  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex operational issues.

  • Develop and validate technical designs, PFDs, H&MBs, and process simulations.

  • Support daily operations through process control, quality monitoring, and product optimisation.

  • Benchmark processes, identify improvement areas, and guide implementation.

  • Provide input on Management of Change (MOC), RCA, HAZOPs, and shutdown scope.

  • Support reporting for performance metrics, utilisation, and plant availability.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (operations, engineering, vendors).

  • Ensure compliance with HSE, QHSE, and refinery safety standards.

Technical Scope Includes

Olefin Processing Unit : Steam cracking, MTBE production, utilities and co-generation.
NGLE : Pre-treatment, compression, refrigeration, distillation, fractionation, and product recovery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas / Refining / Petrochemical environments.

  • Strong experience in process optimisation, troubleshooting, and simulation tools.

  • Proficient in SAP, MS Office, and industry software (e.g. PI, LIMS).

  • Hands-on knowledge of DCS systems, P&IDs, and OEM technical documentation.

  • Familiar with Solomon benchmarking, asset data governance, and budgeting practices.

  • Excellent English communication skills (Arabic desirable).

Preferred Skills

  • Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring ability.

  • Experience in refinery commissioning/start-up is highly valued.

  • Familiarity with HSE standards, emergency response protocols, and process safety.

The purpose of quality assurance Senior officer Job is to perform all process activities mentioned in the approved documentation system of Philex Pharma.

In addition, quality assurance Senior officer job includes implementation of daily / weekly activities as per the approved inspection procedures that assure compliance with Philex Pharma internal quality system.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review and control QA-related documents (SOPs, protocols, reports, batch records, validation documents, etc.).
  • Ensure correct version control, document coding, and issuance/retirement of documents.
  • Maintains master document lists and archives (both electronic and hardcopy).
  • Ensure documents comply with applicable regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Managing and handling Quality Assurance systems such as customer complaints, product recall, returned products and supplier evaluation.
  • Coordinate drafting, review, approval, and periodic revision of SOPs.
  • Ensure timely distribution and withdrawal of outdated SOPs and controlled documents.
  • Retrieve and provide requested documentation during internal/external audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Helping in preparing internal audit plans and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with cGMP.
  • Ensure personnel are trained on current controlled documents as required.
  • Supports in training new QA team members on documentation systems and practices.
  • Ensure proper archival and retention of quality documents as per retention policy.
  • Control of logbooks and ensure proper issuance and reconciliation.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology
  • Minimum 5 years of experience preferably in Pharma Industry.
  • Good computer and internet skills
  • Good English language, reading and writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

The role of a Systems Integrations Engineering Manager, Commercial Systems at Canonical

You’ll Be Responsible For

Senior Project Quality Engineer Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate quality assurance and quality control plans and procedures during the engineering phase of the project.
  • Approve, monitor, and control contractors' quality management plans and standards during early works.
  • Lead the quality team, including fabrication inspectors and construction quality technicians during the construction phase.
  • Ensure quality standards compliance for manufacturing suppliers and construction contractors.
  • Develop and monitor quality KPIs for the project.
  • Require a degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
  • Experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
  • Fluent in English.

The synergy of engineering discipline knowledge/experience along with the understanding of some best practices and improving project delivery by harnessing the power of digital technology makes you a Productivity Engineer at Teknobuilt.

Job Responsibilities
  • Implementation, Training assistance, Configuration and Deployment of business requirements. Coordination Activities for Teknobuilt Solutions and Services on client specific projects.
  • Responsible to drive standardization and integration across projects for synergy and efficiencies.
  • Assigned to projects and help project teams who are involved in planning or managing the execution.
  • Working closely with the projects as part of the team, coordinating day-to-day activities and acting as an interface for enabling the appropriate processes.
  • Liaison with the Client team and Teknobuilt’s internal product & operations team to deliver all aspects of the awarded work scope.
  • Project Site support and operations; Work closely with Subject Matter Experts and Product team to deliver value to client.
  • Help client, PMO team, AWP/WFP Teams, and owners in project execution including coordination between site, client head office, and stakeholders.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Executives, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Develop the implementation plan and strategy for deployment of improvements through process or system; Work closely with product development (software) team for user feedback, bug fixes, product improvements.
  • Preparation of business workflows/detailed functional requirements for enhancing Teknobuilt product. Identify and assist in enhancing Teknobuilt Products and Services for continuous improvement.
  • Keep informed and up to date knowledge base with Industry standards and best practices; Familiarise with company’s projects and initiatives.
Business Development & Implementation Support Related:
  • Business development assistance and project support; Assist in strategic planning, market opportunity assessments, support to develop and execute Project Implementation plans.
  • Help with onboarding of stakeholders into Teknobuilt’s flagship product and promote usage skillfully, overcoming any user resistance. Effectively promote the use of product and develop healthy relationships with stakeholders to become a reliable and approachable person for the project.
  • Develop expertise in Teknobuilt’s processes; Identify, prepare and map client’s current workflow processes in an “as-is” manner. Analyse for potential improvements; Work closely with Teknobuilt operations team to identify and suggest improvements for the client’s processes and bring in Client and Customer requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent.

Skills

You will need to have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Added advantage for having proficiency in Project Management tools such as Primavera, 3D designing tools, and visualization software such as Naviswork.
  • Familiarity in Engineering Procurement and Construction Projects.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Three to four years of experience in Industrial or construction projects.
