Requirements
Education: Degree/Diploma (BSc level) in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
Member of relevant and internationally recognised professional institution.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 12 years of experience, with at least 5 years specifically in the Middle East oil and gas industry, focusing on onshore facility maintenance and construction, particularly with live installations.
Other Requirements: Applicants must possess a strong foundation in engineering, capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications. Essential skills include effective communication and interpersonal abilities, as well as expertise in man management within a matrix organizational structure. A sound technical background and hands-on experience in on-site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management are vital. We are currently working with a growing Oil & Gas Operator conducting production and exploration operations in the Middle East. Due to their continuous growth, they are seeking an experienced Drilling Supervisor to be based on-site with a 28/28 rotation in Oman.
Roles & Responsibilities:- Ensure full implementation of the annual HSE plan, including compliance checks during rig and hoist inspections. Ensure contractors comply with HSEMS as per contract. Participate in HSE audits and incident investigations.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and health policies and regulations are adhered to on the drilling/workover site.
- Manage contractor activities at the site, perform supervisory functions, and exercise financial authority as delegated by senior management.
- Review the drilling/workover plan in detail, discuss with engineers, verify aspects of the plan, recommend technical changes, and prepare for site start-up.
- Review field drilling data, liaise with contractors, and issue work directions to ensure smooth operations.
- Plan with contractors to complete the drilling/workover program on time, within budget, and safely. Ensure logistics are well coordinated.
- Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Understanding of fluid dynamics.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in drilling and workover operations, with at least 5 years as a DSV in horizontal drilling.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and familiar with Open Well and/or DIMS programs.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Well Control Certificate.
