Overview

A Snapshot of your day

A typical day involves preparing the site for gas turbine maintenance, including dismantling components such as casing parts, bearings, and pipelines, while ensuring accurate documentation of dimensions and findings. The day concludes with reassembling components, performing alignment checks, and conducting final inspections to ensure compliance with standards before handover.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Maintain and update tools and work equipment, ensure secure handling of internal software, and enforce to processes and specifications.
  • Perform outage preparation, site setup, tool control, and dismantling of noise enclosures, thermal insulation, electrics, and safety devices.
  • Disassemble casing parts, couplings, bearings, and seals; record dimensions and perform runout checks on gas turbine rotors.
  • Refurbish external components such as oil pumps, oil coolers, and turning devices; supply to findings documentation and NDT examinations.
  • Reassemble combustion system components, gas turbine parts, and pipelines; ensure alignment and conduct concentric run-out tests.
  • Perform final cleaning, inspections, and dimension recording of closed gas turbines; compile tools and prepare for transport or customer handover.
What You Bring
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining tools, work equipment, and internal software while adhering to specified processes and standards.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in gas turbine disassembly, reassembly, and component alignment.
  • Ability to perform dimensional recordings, runout checks, and contribute to NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) examinations.
  • Expertise in refurbishing external components, such as oil pumps, coolers, and turning devices, with attention to detail.
  • Competence in final inspection, cleaning, and preparation of assembly tools for transport or customer handover.

Overview

Mechanical Technician will carry out maintenance, modification, overhauling and installation activities on the mechanical machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures, HSE guidelines and quality standards to attain effective functionality and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out required daily mechanical maintenance work and routine preventative mechanical maintenance work according to set schedules and ACWA NOMAC procedures to facilitate continuous operations.
  • Monitor the physical condition of all machines in assigned plant and report non-conformances to Mechanical Engineer / Supervisor to facilitate effective maintenance of all ACWA NOMAC facilities as per set Quality/ HSE standards.
  • Respond to mechanical failures and implement corrective actions in adherence with procedures and guidelines to reduce downtime and maximize functionality of equipment.
  • Trouble shoot using necessary tools and spare parts which include diagnosis, repairing and checking equipment for corrosion, cracks, leaks, failures and perform necessary routine repairs to facilitate uninterrupted operations and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose causes of mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment such as defective parts replacement, adjustment, alignment, oiling, greasing and boiling and take corrective measures in collaboration with Mechanical Engineer / Supervisor.
  • Read and understand technical manuals, mechanical diagrams and machinery drawings and apply the knowledge to carry out maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, to prepare for the mechanical maintenance to machinery in the assigned area
Health, Safety, Security & Environment
  • Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed
Skills
  • Practical Knowledge of relevant plant equipment
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles including but not limited to identification, classification, disposal of waste and emission monitoring
  • Awareness of HSE & quality standards.
