A typical first-level software engineering team is based in a single time zone, such as EMEA or Americas, or APAC, with an Engineering Manager and a Senior Engineer dedicated to a single product, who work as a team to shape the roadmap, technical strategy, code, documentation, and community engagement. They are both capable of coding, and are both leaders comfortable assigning work and maintaining expectations of delivery. An Engineering Manager is responsible for line management and career guidance. The ability to develop engineering talent, to represent your team and product from a technical perspective, and to drive collaboration with other teams and customers are all critical to success in this role.

The Field Engineering Manager is responsible to assure to the construction process the required Free Issue Deliverables (material and IFC drawings).
In particular he has the overall responsibility to ensure:
- Management of technical documentation (filing, distribution, field revisions, as-built, subcontractor documentation)
 - Construction assistance (interface with home office, identification/approval of technical solutions for non conformities, assistance in reading the technical drawings and documents, reply to Request for Information, Vendor specialist management, preparation/approval of method statements)

TASKS
Checks the consistency between transmittal sheets and documents attached.

 - Duplicates and distributes all documents in compliance with the Project procedure (matrix), Client and Subcontractors included.
 - Organizes the filing of all documents.

 - Acts as the Constructability Coordinator after the opening of the jobsite in order to continue and complete the constructability program started at the Engineering Center.
 - Ensure the general coordination of the Handover of the Facilities to Client (punch list resolution).
 - Check and analyse for any shortage of material (loss, damage, shortage, etc.) all possibilities of replacement, substitution, specification adjustment, etc. before giving authorisation to proceed with new additional purchase or request to the Home Office.
 - Has to manage the electronic drawings data storage and all IT subjects relating the drawings (classification, updating, …)
 
In case the Site Organization foresees the Material Manager, all the following duties/responsibilities/tasks related to material management are taken by the Material Manager:
- Up-dates the status of all ordered material contacting the home office procurement department
 - Supervises in coordination with Material Handling Coordinator the reception, inspection and warehousing
 - Supervises the distribution of the material preparing the material delivery vouchers
 - Provides information on expected arrival and/or availability of materials in field

The Engineering Lead together with peers in Europe, Asia and the MEA will guide and develop a team of highly specialized engineers in the delivery of communications solutions and services to Motorola's clients across the international region. The Engineering Lead addresses Customer, Business and People matters managing the balance between the three through sound judgement and supervision. 
Basic Requirements
- Forecast of functional workload and provisioning technical capacity and capabilities as per business needs, current and future.
 - Coordinate the creation and maintenance of relevant technology and solution capabilities consistent with Motorola Solutions business goals.
 - Manage the tracking of particular staff competencies and project utilization for effective deployment of resources to new, existing and completing projects
 - Manage, coach and mentor direct reports including conducting dialogues and performance reviews.
 - Review and approval of post-award technical documents including equipment lists, acceptance test plans, design and construction packs and system drawings.
 - Ownership and/or supervision of Field and/or Customer issue resolution and support activities as required.
 - Collaboration with other Engineering managers to ensure a consistent approach to the growth, development and training of the engineering team.
 - Objectives set with clear criteria and on time for all team members, in line with corporate directives.
 - Perform regular performance reviews ensuring that objectives are followed into success.
 - Maintaining and developing a Critical and Leadership Talent pool, with personal development plans, including development plans as opportunities to experience the skills further.
 - Travel, domestic and international, will be required %).
