Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an HVAC Technician at General Electric & Trading Co LLC. The HVAC Technician will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Some work from home is acceptable, with the primary location being in Muscat.

Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting
• Refrigerant handling certification

HVAC Technician cum Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and versatile HVAC Technician cum Engineer who can perform both technical fieldwork and cost estimation responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be capable of handling end-to-end HVAC project tasks — from site assessment, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance to preparing accurate BOQs, material take-offs, and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical (Hands-On) Duties:

• Install, test, commission, and maintain HVAC systems including VRF/VRV, split units, ducted systems, package units, and chilled water systems.
• Perform troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repair works on HVAC equipment and controls.
• Supervise and guide technicians during site execution to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
• Conduct site inspections to assess existing systems and provide technical recommendations.
• Ensure proper documentation of work done, including checklists, test reports, and service records.

Costing & Engineering Duties:

• Prepare detailed BOQs, cost estimates, and material requirements based on project drawings and site conditions.
• Analyze HVAC designs and specifications to determine accurate project costing.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain material pricing and lead times.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals and quotations for clients.
• Work closely with the project team to plan execution schedules and resource allocation.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or HVAC-related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and project costing.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ducting, piping, and refrigerant systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and basic costing software/tools.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead site teams.
• Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Valid GCC driving license (preferred).

ITI with minimum 8 years experience in HVAC Chiller systems installation, operation and maintenance. GCC experience must. Good communication skills.

MUST HAVE EXP IN INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE OF DX/DUCTED AC UNITS, PIPING, TESTING, WIRING & COMMISSIONING. ABLE TO HANDLE TOOLS, TROUBLESHOOTING & TEAM SUPPORT. SKILLS IN BRAZING, VACUUM/ PRESSURE TESTING TROUBLESHOOTING REQUIRED

• Should be capable of handling split AC and ducted AC servicing confidently.

• Previous experience in HVAC maintenance is preferred.
• Basic understanding of tools, safety procedures, and HVAC components.
