Job Description
  • Establishment and maintenance of project-specific quality system documentation in accordance with Six Construct's standard quality system and the contract.
  • Planning all QA/QC activities in conjunction with the QA/QC Manager or Project Manager.
  • Studying project specifications, drawings, and method statements.
  • Checking delivered materials for compliance with approved material submittals.
  • Inspecting the quality of materials produced or processed on-site (e.g., concrete, steel bars).
  • Controlling the quality and compliance of all site works in accordance with approved method statements and applicable standards.
  • Preparing and following up on all inspection requests.
  • Organizing and supervising quality control inspections, and supporting QC Inspectors.
  • Advising the Project Manager on appropriate preventive actions following the occurrence of non-conforming work.
  • Managing Non-Conformance Reports and Registers in coordination with the Site Superintendent.
  • Controlling non-conformities, including disposition, corrective and preventive actions, and verifying execution and reporting (non-conformity notices).
  • Conducting surveillance and audits of the project Quality Management System, including corrective and preventive actions where required.
  • Implementing a proper document control system to record and track quality documents.
  • Establishing test plans, including the preparation and/or review of all Quality Control forms and reports, and verifying their implementation.
  • Ensuring timely testing and recording of all concrete cube and soil tests in accordance with specification requirements.
  • Establishing the Quality Plan for the project in accordance with ISO 9001 and coordinating quality plans with subcontractors.
  • Assisting the Technical Office and Site Superintendents in monitoring and reporting on the quality of work.
  • Coordinating with the Procurement Manager to visit subcontractors/suppliers and verify off-site manufactured materials.
  • Reporting on cast-in items, embedded items, and buried items (closure notices).
  • Identifying and collecting test data on excavations, backfill, and soil replacement.
  • Supervising the laboratory and overseeing all testing activities.
  • Supervising QA/QC Inspectors and the Laboratory Technician.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess a degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering with a focus on construction.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in quality control within a construction company is mandatory, with a strong preference for expertise in MARINE WORKS.
  • Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Arabic is highly advantageous.
  • ISO 9001 certification is strongly preferred and will be considered a significant asset for the role.

1. JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for ensuring that Lab Technicians and QC Inspectors perform their tasks according to the established standards and that raw materials used in manufacturing are tested prior to use.

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Production Quality Standards (Pipes):

  1. Organize and supervise subordinates to ensure efficient and compliant QC activities.

Third Party Inspections

  2. Conduct product qualification tests in coordination with the QA Engineer.
  3. Update company product qualifications in line with local and international regulations.

Non-conforming Product Control

  1. Identify raw materials that do not meet specifications and coordinate corrective actions.
  2. Identify substandard products and share information with relevant personnel.
  3. Initiate corrective actions to ensure compliance and minimize losses.

Inventory:

  1. Monitor monthly store inventory checks for major raw materials.
  2. Prepare and submit monthly stock reports to relevant managers.

Employee Effectiveness

  1. Promote employee engagement and team effectiveness.
  2. Conduct annual performance appraisals and provide feedback.
  3. Set objectives and targets for subordinates annually.

HSE:

  1. Comply with safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  2. Use PPE and safety gear as required.
  3. Maintain clean and organized operational areas.
  4. Report unsafe acts, incidents, or violations.
  5. Develop a safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies.
  6. Participate in QHSE audits and incident reviews.

3. SPAN OF COMMUNICATION

Internal: General Manager, QA/QC & HSE Manager, Plant Manager, All Line Managers.
External: Third-party inspection bodies, customer representatives, suppliers.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial).
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of QC experience in a medium-to-large manufacturing company.
  • Strong product experience in fiberglass applications.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Management System.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant international standards.
