Role Description

Responsibilities
The Lead Process Engineer will be responsible: 
- The Lead Process Engineer is engaged in the design, preparation of specification, data sheets and analysis of Process engineering requirements on a project.
 - Review and approve key process documentation from EPC Contractor(s) to ensure proposed designs meet the technical requirements of the project
 - Support on tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work
 - Planning and supporting on Process engineering design for field process engineering requirements, preparation of basic design, data sheets, specifications, support on design deliverables, FEED and detailed design of the process part of the project
 - Ensuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system
 - Co-ordination with Project team and client
 - Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and pre-qualification documents in what relates to Process engineering design
 - Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers and Process Discipline Manager
 - Assimilating the evolution of new products and technology, and updating oneself on the latest international standards in terms of engineering design practices and their applications
 - Identifying new methodology of work process required for higher productivity
 - As Lead Discipline Engineer, when assigned on projects, responsible for managing the team of engineers, designers, and delivering the engineering requirements of the project

Develop, maintain and improve framework, procedures, standards and guidelines related to Process Safety.

Responsibilities
The Lead Process Safety Engineer will be responsible: 
- Lead the implementation of Process Safety policies, systems, procedures and guidelines for RPI & Plastic assets considering lesson learnt, best practices and standards to ensure the work is effectively and efficiently.
 - Lead the developing of Process Safety project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resources.
 - Ensures that all work is conducted in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
 - Ensure that there is consistent strategy to manage Process Safety Barriers for all RPI assets including identification, operations, maintenance, etc. across facilities and plants as part of Mechanical Integrity System.
 - Ensure requirements for safe operating procedures includes a document generation and upkeep,
 - Ensure competency assurance and compliance as part of Process Safety Barriers Management.
 - Ensure Risk management Audits & Reports and Projects
 - Consolidate the process Safety performance for RPI and prepare consolidate reports including recommendations for improvement of process safety management.
 - Interface with Audits and relevant authorities for compliance of Process safety plans / works.
 - Ensure availability of processes governing Hazard Analysis (PHA), e.g., Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) study, Quantitative Risk
 - Assessment (QRA), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and other risk evaluation studies and Process Safety workshops for existing and new facilities. Ensuring compliance to those processes.
 - Execute programs to improve Process Safety culture and monitor the improvement of Process Safety culture and provide updates, guidance and clarifications on existing laws and regulations regarding Process Safety related issues and advice on establishing the best practice standards.
 - Lead Process Safety incidents' investigations and follow-up for RPI assets.
 - Lead site wide PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and QRA studies as required.
 - The lead engineer is responsible for liaising with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure that project objectives are met and that expectations are managed effectively.
 - Focal Point for interface with process risk management audits and their follow up on the areas for improvement as required for proper implementation.
 - Provides technical guidance and expertise to the process safety team, and for ensuring that technical issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
 - Provide technical specific guidance and support on process safety issues during the concept, FEED, Engineering, construction, commissioning, operational and decommissioning phases of plants/facilities/projects in RPI

Experience
- 10 + years of relevant experience in process control, automation, or a related field within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry.
 - Experience in non-linear APC ( e.g Polymers)( Preferred)
 - Experience in RTO
 - Experience in AI ( Preferred)

Technical
- Demonstrated proficiency with at least one of the key APC software suites such as Aspen DMC, PACE, or Honeywell's Profit suite
 - Experience in PID tuning, control loop performance analysis,
 - Strong understanding and working knowledge of at least one DCS (Distributed Control Systems) platforms such as Yokogawa, Honeywell, Schneider DCS, etc.
 - Strong Understanding of refinery operations, petrochemicals and economics
 - Knowledge of alarm rationalization such as alarm prioritization, alarm suppression, bad actor analysis.
 - Knowledge of project management, from initial scope definition and vendor selection to system commissioning and performance monitoring.
 
Knowledge of Steady state and dynamic process modelling and simulations
