SOSi is seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) Cable Plant Technician to support US Army requirements in the Europe & Africa Area of Responsibility (AOR).

• Subject Matter Expert responsible for overseeing theater-wide cable plant installation, set-up, and removal operations.
• Responsible for overseeing removal of switching, distribution, routing, and dialing equipment at program end-user locations.
• Responsible for ensuring the timely, effective repair of telephone, cable television, internet, and other communications equipment at supported end-user locations.
• Supports theater project planning / execution to optimize and modernize theater IT infrastructure.
• Manages and mentors subordinate personnel.

• An active Secret security clearance with an SSBI.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience, or an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 14 years’ experience, or a high school diploma with a minimum of 16 years’ experience.
• DOD Cyber Work Force (DCWF) 411 Certs: SecurityX / CASP+ or CCNP Security or CISA or FITSP-O or GICSP or SSCP or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint for document management and various administrative tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and organize materials for In-Progress Review (IPR) meetings.
• Experience producing metrics and reports using Microsoft Office tools.
• Proven administrative support experience, assisting contractor management with various tasks and projects.
• Demonstrated history of discretion, independent judgment, and self-direction.

• Normal office conditions with potential to perform duties in deployed locations.
• Core hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 0600 – 1700.
• May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
• It is anticipated that contractor personnel will be required to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) to various CONUS and OCONUS locations based on USAREUR-AF and Mission Partner requirements.

Role Summary:

1. Apply the approved standards, procedures, and schedules to ensure the reliability and integrity of the plant equipment and systems in the allocated area.
2. Implement scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on relevant equipment and ensure all work history and data are entered into the CMMS system.
3. Generate testing protocols, certificates, and other documentation in line with established standards, and ensure they are linked to the respective equipment within the CMMS.
4. Ensure the application of approved standards, procedures, and schedules for the reliability and integrity of the plant in line with company guidelines.
5. Place and remove spades, open and close pipe flanges, recognize gasket types, bolts, and nuts.
6. Carry out flange tightening by hydraulic torquing and tensioning methods.
7. Perform proper slinging and lifting with chain-blocks and small cranes.
8. Remove and re-install rotating equipment like pumps and motors.
9. Replace mechanical seals in pumps and compressors.
10. Obtain rotating equipment machine clearances and dimensional data.
11. Acquire PTW certificate and carry out all responsibilities of PTW holder.
12. Work extended hours and respond to call-out duties as required.
13. Certify flange tightening, rigging, and slinging.

Requirements

1. Education: Degree, HND, or Diploma in a relevant discipline or its equivalent.
2. Experience: Over 10 years in mechanical maintenance within the petrochemical/oil and gas or power generation industry.
3. Specific Skills:

• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) to IELTS level.
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Windows, with a good understanding of these tools.
• Trained and experienced in the alignment of rotating equipment, including reverse dial gauge alignment and laser alignment.
• Ability to lead with less experienced team members.
• Skilled in pulling-up gland packing and replacement.
• Meet all requirements for a Mechanical Technician.
• Knowledge of spare parts identification and management.
