Job OverviewWe are seeking a versatile and innovative chief Design Engineer with a strong background in Electromechanical system design and the integration of hardware with electrical and electronic systems. The ideal candidate will lead and contribute to the design, development, prototyping, and refinement of new products, taking concepts from initial ideas through to production readiness.
This role requires proficiency in CAD and CAM tools, mechanical and electrical integration, and a solid understanding of product development workflows, materials, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support design and development of new products, focusing on functional, manufacturability, and cost-effective solutions.
- Team leadership, including active supervision, coaching and development of junior designers and fresh graduates.
- Integrate hardware systems with electrical and electronic components (PCBs, sensors, actuators, wiring, etc.).
- Demonstrated expertise in the design and implementation of complex mechanical mechanisms involving kinematic chains, motion control systems, and precision components across various product development projects.
- Design Electromechanical systems including enclosures, moving parts, brackets, mounts, and thermal/structural features.
- Create and manage 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, assemblies, and exploded views using software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or Fusion 360.
- Utilize CAM tools for prototype development and manufacturing file preparation (CNC, laser cutting, 3D printing, etc.).
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure complete system functionality and seamless integration.
- Support prototyping, testing, validation, and iterative design improvements based on test results and stakeholder feedback.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and engineering change orders.
- Work with suppliers, fabricators, and vendors to source components and materials.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, certifications, and safety regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.
- 20+ years of experience in product design and electromechanical system integration.
- Strong track record in problem-solving and design of complex mechanism systems.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, CATIA).
- Experience with CAM tools and file preparation for 5-axis CNC machining, 3D printing, or other digital manufacturing methods.
- Solid understanding of materials, fabrication techniques, and mechanical design principles.
- Experience in integrating mechanical designs with electrical components, PCBs, and wiring harnesses.
