As part of our Core team we are looking for Core Network Architect. This role has the overall responsibility for developing and delivering the strategy and arch guidelines for Core Network including M2M and IOT core.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Manage and develop the technical RFQs, RFPs including vendor selections evaluation and scoring.
- Ensure timely implementation of Core Network Strategy and capacity plans.
- Manage Capacity planning for PS Core & IMS Core.
- Develop and deliver Vodafone technical plans for VoLTE/VoNR/ICS for Voice & Packet Core domain including EPC, 5G NSA core and evolution to 5G SA for Data.
- Architecture and Design Authority for horizontal integration within Core domain (EPC, Charging) and vertical with IT, Provisioning, Datalake, security etc. along with connectivity with other local operators and international hubs.
- Develop and deliver Vodafone technical plans for evolution from Virtualized Network Functions to Cloud Native Containerized Network Functions on the IMS/CS & PS Core domain
- Active engagement in network transformation roadmaps & Ensuring optimal network design is in place based on Vodafone group standards
- Leading major transformation programs (NFV and cloud transformation program, IOT program, …)
- Manage budget planning and realization in line with the financial targets of Vodafone.
- Support other business stakeholders when it comes to new features, functions, and network evolution introduction
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Deep understanding of PS Core architecture 4G EPC, 5G NSA and 5G SA.
- Deep understanding of Voice & Data Roaming, scenarios and call flows.
- Deep Understanding of designing, Solutioning and System Integration (Network Planning, Optimization .Adaptation, Deployment and Troubleshooting) Skills in IMS/VoLTE Architecture Internal and External Interfaces
- Solid Background of IMS Network and Nodes Like CSCF/MMtel/Application SERVERS/MGW/BGCF/MGCF
- Deep knowledge of virtualization (NFV) and cloud architecture.
- Clear understanding of Cloud Native and micro-services based network functions
- Deep Knowledge of PCRF and integration with Charging Systems for Gx, Rx, Gy, Sy and Ro interfaces.
- Excellent Working Knowledge of IMS & EPC interfaces with complete understanding about related specifications. Should have solid experience on VoLTE commercial deployments.
- Deep understanding of RFP/RFQ and vendor selection process.
- Deep knowledge of internet of things services and network arch.
- Clear understanding for 5G Core network roadmap and standards.
- Start-up experience required.
- International experience across different cultures, ideally experience of having lived and worked in Oman (or in the Gulf) and/or understanding of the Arab culture.
- Overall minimum of 12-15 years relevant experience.
