Responsibilities:

Quality, flight Operations and Local Regulatory).


• Recommend corrective actions or AMS revisions based on reliability data analysis.


• Ensure reliability data is correctly collected, analysed, and reported using appropriate software and KPIs.


• Develop, manage, and revise MEL documents in line with the Master MEL (MMEL), DDG, regulatory

guidance, and operational needs.


• Review and verify proposed MEL amendments for completeness and revisions are as agreed during the

MEL Committee Meeting prior to submission to national authority for approval.


• Coordinate MEL approval process with the local regulatory authority.


• Support operational departments with MEL interpretation and dispatch issues.


• Amend the company documentation such as CAME, EPMs, and related manuals whenever necessary.


• Ensure compliance with EASA/FAA/CAA Oman/IOSA and other applicable airworthiness regulations.


• Maintain documentation and records required for audits by regulatory authorities, IOSA, lessors, and

internal QA.


• Support audits, inspections, investigations and implement corrective actions where necessary.


• Lead and mentor a team of engineers within the Maintenance Program, MEL, and Reliability functions.


• Interface with Maintenance Planning, Quality Assurance, Development Engineering, and Maintenance

departments to ensure alignment.


• Liaise with OEMs and external service providers (e.g., reliability data processors, MEL service partners).


• Efficiently and effectively plan, organize, co-ordinate and control resources allocated to the section to

achieve high quality technical standards acceptable to the Company and Regulatory Authority.


• Contribute to the yearly budget preparation for the department.


• Ensure that the training requirements are for the staff are fulfilled as per the regulatory.


• Carry out any other task as and when directed by FH-DE.


• Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Management.

Minimum Qualification & Experience:


• Bachelor's degree in any Engineering field with 8 years of experience preferable in Development

Engineering.


• OR ICAO Type II license with minimum of 10 years of relevant experience preferable in Development

Engineering.


• Minimum 3 years in Supervisory experience is mandatory.


• For Non-Omani: Relevant experience should be in Aircraft Maintenance Program, Reliability Program and

MEL Publication.

RESPONSIBILITES

3.1 Reliability Strategy Development & Maintenance Program Optimization

  • Develop and update reliability-centered maintenance strategies using FMEA, RCM, PMO, CA and risk-based analysis
  • Evaluate asset performance and cost drivers to optimize PM intervals, scope, and execution methods
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment availability and reduce lifecycle costs
  • articipate in the development of the PM budget and asset reliability plan in consultation with the Maintenance Superintendent.

3.2 Failure Analysis and Root Cause Investigation

  • Lead structured root cause investigations (RCAs) for chronic and critical failures
  • Conduct daily failure reviews and update reliability logs with recommendations
  • Propose and track corrective actions, including equipment modifications or strategy changes

Support development of reliability knowledge tools and failure libraries.

3.3 Reliability Projects and Improvement Initiatives

  • Identify, scope, and support reliability improvement projects, including capex justifications and cost-benefit analysis
  • Coordinate engineering inputs for reliability upgrades and asset improvement actions
  • Provide technical ownership during implementation, commissioning, and follow-up

3.4 Reliability Reporting and KPI Monitoring

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for reliability KPIs (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, OEE)
  • Analyze asset health indicators and failure trends to drive decision-making
  • Present findings and insights in weekly/monthly asset performance meetings

3.5 Support to Maintenance and Operations Teams

  • Coach technicians and engineers in reliability concepts and best practices
  • Assist maintenance teams in troubleshooting chronic or complex failures

Promote reliability culture and preventive thinking across departments

3.6 Risk-Based Asset Management and Condition Monitoring Support

  • Conduct equipment criticality assessments, LCC, and RBI reviews to prioritize asset strategies
  • Collaborate with CM analysts and PdM technicians to enhance condition monitoring practices

Use PdM data (vibration, oil, thermal) to identify early warnings and trigger proactive interventions

3.7 Team Leadership and People Development (For Senior Reliability Engineers with Direct Reports)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of reliability professionals to deliver high-quality asset reliability services
  • Set performance objectives, manage work plans (WPPs), and evaluate team outcomes
  • Coach, train, and support underperforming staff while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Ensure accurate timekeeping, adherence to company policies, and performance documentation (e.g., SAP records)

3.8 Action the SA Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures
to ensure safety and compliance

  • Continuously action the SA EHS procedures
  • Analyze and mitigate EHS risks inherent in maintenance plans, tasks and projects
  • Know and apply the SA housekeeping principles and procedures (5S) to maintain the work areas and storages in a safe, efficient condition.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Reliability Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Power Plant , maintenance or reliability roles within asset-intensive industrial environments (e.g., aluminium, oil & gas, power, or heavy manufacturing)
  • Certification in Reliability Engineering or Asset Management is highly desirable (e.g., CMRP, CRL, IAM Certificate)

Contract duration: 2 years
Develop and implement electrical reliability strategies, perform advanced condition monitoring, and lead initiatives to enhance electrical system performance and extend the remaining useful life of electrical assets. Design and execute condition monitoring programs and implement predictive maintenance strategies with advanced analytics

Minimum Requirement
12+ years of relevant experience in similar role specifically substations, power generation, or distribution

Proficiency in condition monitoring techniques such as thermography, partial discharge analysis, and insulation resistance testing.

Experience in working with online and offline monitoring systems.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

Broad understanding of relevant process on upstream plants & applicable codes & standards and project specifications.

Experience in plant troubleshooting, maintenance optimization & problem solving.

Understanding of Process (P&IDs / PFDs) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.

Relevant electrical certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and Competent Electrical Person (CEP).

Roles and responsibilities
Support electrical asset reliability management by providing technical expertise to operations and maintenance teams for critical electrical assets of high voltage and low voltage system including transformers, switchgear, motors, UPS, Variable frequency drives (VFDs), Soft starters, and Explosion-proof electrical equipment's in field.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) to track electrical system reliability and improvements.

Assist in daily troubleshooting and resolution of field electrical issues to ensure system reliability and stability.

Identify potential risks related to the electrical power system and develop corrective actions to mitigate failures.

Provide guidance on the selection, installation, and commissioning of new electrical equipment.

Conduct Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies and develop strategies for long-term asset reliability.

Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to investigate and mitigate electrical failures.

Apply advanced reliability engineering principles, including reliability modelling, prediction, life testing, HALT, HASS, ALT, and warranty analysis.

Perform remaining life assessments of electrical assets to support asset lifecycle management.

Develop and implement condition monitoring techniques, including Thermal imaging, Partial discharge testing, Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA), Transformer oil analysis, Ultrasonic testing, UPS & power quality analysis, Insulation resistance testing, Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR) testing, and Circuit breaker testing.

Maintain records of equipment history, maintenance activities, and reliability metrics.

Implement predictive maintenance strategies using advanced analytics, machine learning, and reliability models

Assess the performance and quality of service provided by the electrical distribution network using reliability indices such as SAIFI, SAIDI, and CAIDI.

Develop, review, and update electrical Maintenance Craft Procedures (MCPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with industry best practices.

Conduct regular audits of maintenance practices and implement improvements.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and reduce maintenance costs
