Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Muscat for a Legal Intern. The Legal Intern will assist in legal document preparation, conduct legal research, and support the litigation and arbitration teams. Additionally, the intern will communicate with clients and provide administrative support as needed. Duration of the Internship is from 1 to 2 months.

- Guide and provide high support on planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting practices / set of processes, as well as, documents, performance indicators (KPIs) and embed in day-to-day activities.

Perform and execute end to end legal tasks within the Alternative Energy sector, under VP Legal Alternative Energy instruction and guidance, in a progression that encompasses more responsibilities according to the level of the incumbent.
Provide timely value-added legal support and advice to OQ Alternative Energy Management and all relevant business units, to ensure the efficient and effective performance of the company's operations, whilst ensuring those operations are performed in accordance with applicable laws and the company's internal policies and procedures.
The incumbent will, at all times, act in accordance with OQAE's Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as in accordance with all relevant policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omans governmental & other legal directives, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
The Specialist Legal should have substantial experience in the Alternative Energy/Energy industry. They understand the nuances of renewable energy, oil and gas operations, regulations, contractual frameworks, joint venture relations and commercial dynamics.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
• Execute such tasks as assigned to them by the VP Legal, including inter alia contract review and drafting, joint venture agreement review and drafting, project document review and drafting, corporate support and government legal relationships.
• As a key member of the OQ Alternative Energy legal team, ensure all OQ Alternative Energy activities are undertaken in compliance with all laws and relevant policies and procedures. Have a sound understanding of corporate structures and company law and reporting requirements, as these relate to OQ Alternative Energy and its subsidiaries. Assist in the development, support and training of junior and graduate staff within OQ Alternative Energy Legal Department.
• Review, interpret, draft and/or negotiate a variety of policies and commercial contracts, including Engineering Procurement & Construction Contracts, Power Purchase Agreements, Procurement Contracts as well as joint venture partner agreements including Shareholder Agreements, Joint Development Agreements and subsidiary incorporation and management process.
• Provide timely and practical legal advice to OQ Alternative Energy management in respect of complex, multi-jurisdictional Alternative Energy projects, and liaise with Company affiliates and joint venture partners in respect of the same and will have well developed project management skills to ensure close coordination of legal and commercial work streams.
