Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist to manage and support our on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Azure, virtualization platforms, SCCM, SCOM, and backup solutions. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, scripting abilities, and familiarity with identity and access management in hybrid environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2003–2019), including Domain Controllers and Windows Server roles.

  • Manage core services: Active Directory , DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, FSMO roles, and OU management.

  • Perform user, computer, and group migrations between domain forests using tools like Quest Migration Tool .

  • Troubleshoot replication, DNS, DHCP, and time synchronization issues. Perform metadata cleanup and promote/demote DCs as needed.

  • Configure and manage DFS , file servers, and perform restores using AD Recycle Bin.

  • Implement and maintain Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) for Office 365 Single Sign-On.

  • Write PowerShell scripts to automate user, computer, and group management tasks.

  • Provision and manage virtual machines on Azure, VMware, Hyper-V, and AWS EC2 .

  • Configure and support Azure AD , Azure AD Connect , and Intune for device and identity management.

  • Administer SCCM for software deployment, patch management, and reporting.

  • Use SCOM to monitor Windows and Linux servers for availability and performance.

  • Ensure robust backup operations using Symantec, VERITAS, and NetBackup solutions.

  • Support and troubleshoot hybrid Azure AD-joined devices, compliance policies, and endpoint configurations.

  • Manage Microsoft Exchange Online , including transport rules and email security for multi-domain environments.

  • Implement identity protection measures such as MFA , risk detection policies, and Azure password policies.

  • Configure and manage Windows Autopilot , Thin Clients , and AVD/AWS Workspaces for end-user computing environments.


Skills

  • Minimum of 5–8 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure roles.

  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory.

  • Practical knowledge of Azure IaaS/PaaS , SCCM , SCOM , and virtualization technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience with identity and access management , including Azure AD and MFA.

  • Manage the storage and backup systems of the Division to provide agreed levels of service, security, storage optimization, and recovery and growth capacity, in compliance with the bank’s data retention and data protection requirements.
  • Initiate and monitor actions to investigate and resolve problems in the IT Infrastructure and implement agreed solutions and measures.
  • Supervise the assigned project team members.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Key Deliverables:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of specific technical specialisms, including computer hardware, operating systems, and related products. Provide expert advice on their application and utilize this knowledge in job duties.
  • Operate and support servers, SANs, printers, and associated IT peripherals; support email, domain management, and related systems; administer and manage operating systems and other system software; oversee maintenance of PCs, laptops, and related equipment at level two.
  • Advance the IT Infrastructure goals of the Department, such as reducing costs and improving performance, through the approved use of emerging technologies and products.
  • Contribute to service continuity planning and implement approved plans to ensure defined levels of infrastructure continuity are achieved.
  • Provide project management services for Infrastructure projects within the IT Division/Business Unit, including risk mitigation, quality assurance, and resource management.
  • Manage the installation, testing, commissioning, and decommissioning of hardware and software in accordance with standards, quality, and safety plans.
  • Operate and maintain the IT Infrastructure, monitor performance, adhere to support procedures, and ensure service levels are met.
  • Monitor infrastructure capacity, follow policies to proactively address shortfalls, and document performance against targets.
  • Implement disaster recovery plans, conduct regular testing, and ensure the infrastructure meets recovery objectives.
  • Monitor service delivery against SLAs, diagnose issues, and initiate improvements.
  • Provide expertise in system software review, installation, testing, upgrades, and resolving related service issues.
  • Ensure security procedures are followed, review for breaches, and take remedial actions as necessary.
  • Manage storage and backup systems to ensure security, efficiency, and compliance with data retention policies.
  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure problems, implementing effective solutions.
  • Supervise project team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with bank policies and standards.
  • Participate in initiatives and projects as directed.

Qualifications:

  • BA in Computer Science or related field.
  • Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional, VMware Certified Advanced Professional, Red Hat Certified System Administrator, and Red Hat Certified Engineer.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Technical skills in IT Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of management tools (Admin consoles, utilities, PowerShell, Docker, Scripting, Terminal).
  • Project management and supervisory skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years' professional/technical experience, including at least two years in ICT systems operations and maintenance.

Business Understanding:

  • Strong understanding of banking systems, business processes, and financial services.

We are hiring a UX Designer for Infrastructure to work with the exceptional engineering teams at Canonical, creating open-source tools that are used to build clouds and manage clusters of compute globally.

Our design team is on a mission to turn complex, open-source software into efficient, intuitive products that can change how complex systems are built and what open source is capable of for enterprise IT. We are looking for a talented and technically oriented user experience designer, who shares our ambitions.

This role sits in the design team reporting to the Infrastructure design manager.

Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.

The role entails

  • Building tools that enable everyone to build their own cloud experiences (MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud and Canonical k8s)
  • Collaborating with product managers and engineers to shape the future of the Data Center: Self-sovereign Clouds
  • Supporting deeply complex products with the process of design and UX heuristics
  • Working to evolve and evangelise design systems that drive consistency and efficiency
  • Understanding the broader scope of your work and its numerous interconnected constraints
  • Supporting one of our working groups to enable Canonical design's horizontal efforts

  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Bachelor's or equivalent in User Experience, Design, or STEM or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path

They should also be able to connect their design leadership to the strategic vision of the company.
