Position Summary:
The Sales/Service Engineer will be responsible for providing expert instrumentation engineering support while actively driving business growth through sales initiatives and tender participation. This dual-role position requires technical proficiency in instrumentation systems, strong client engagement skills, and the ability to manage the end-to-end tender process, from opportunity identification to submission.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Technical & Engineering Duties
- Design, configure, and implement instrumentation and control systems for industrial applications.
- Perform installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation equipment.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and clients during project execution and after-sales phases.
- Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and reports for projects and proposals.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
B. Sales & Business Development Duties
- Actively seek and identify new sales opportunities through market research, client visits, and networking.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients to identify further sales opportunities and cross-selling possibilities.
- Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals, including quotations and bids.
- Conduct client presentations and demonstrations to explain technical solutions and value propositions.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with clients in coordination with the management team.
- Achieve sales targets set by the company and provide regular sales performance reports.
C. Tender & Bidding Duties
- Monitor public and private tender portals to identify relevant opportunities.
- Review tender documents, technical specifications, and commercial requirements in detail.
- Coordinate with technical, procurement, and finance teams to prepare competitive and compliant tender submissions.
- Prepare all technical and financial documentation required for tendering.
- Ensure timely submission of tenders and proposals in accordance with client deadlines.
- Follow up with clients post-submission to track tender status and provide additional clarifications when required.
- Maintain a database of past tenders, win/loss records, and lessons learned for process improvement.

8. Process all warranty claims and compile for review claim forms and data collected from the service team.
9. Undertake as required site visits for tendering or quoting of new projects.
10. Prepare proposals and estimates in the company format for approval process.
11. Actively seek out best prices for spare parts across multiple suppliers when applicable to provide best value to our customers.
12. Manage spares stock levels and initiate reordering of parts when required to maintain minimum stock levels.
13. Comply with company ISO requirements, company policies and internal instructions.
14. Manage CRM data relating to client details and develop the same over time.
15. Work across job functions within the business unit when required to do so, and support service operations.
16. Provide monthly sales reporting including pipeline, projects lost and won and commercial data.
17.
Identifying and mitigating potential risks that could impact sales & service delivery & report to service manager.
18.
Keeping up with industry trends and best practices, introducing new service offerings or improvements.
19.
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the service department and the organization as a whole.
