Two (02) mechanical Technicians must have a minimum of five (05) years’ experience in central boiler steam raising plant, associated steam pipe work and controls, condense recovery systems, and boiler water treatment.

This role requires knowledge of safety and current regulations as applied to such plant. Each Technician must hold a certificate of competence from a government-recognized source, preferably a Class One Boiler Operators Certificate. Additionally, one Technician should have experience in machine shop work, including lathe and milling machine work, screw cutting, and other close tolerance work, along with welding ability.

As we continue to scale our operations, we are looking to hire a skilled and proactive Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure smooth functioning of plant equipment and minimal production downtime.

Role Overview:
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems across the plant. This includes preventive and reactive maintenance of key equipment, ranging from grinders, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems , to quartz ovens, press machines, polishing units , and EOT cranes . You will play a vital role in supporting production efficiency and safety through effective engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance of both mechanical and electrical machinery within the plant.
• Handle repair and overhauling of mechanical components including gearboxes , pumps , hydraulic/pneumatic systems , and press/polishing machines .
• Execute electrical maintenance tasks including fault diagnosis, circuit inspection, and replacement of faulty components in quartz plant equipment.
• Conduct arc welding , gas cutting , and fabrication tasks as needed for machine repairs or structural adjustments.
• Ensure proper lubrication and greasing of machines on scheduled intervals to avoid wear and tear.
• Maintain and repair EOT cranes , drilling machines , bench rollers , and other utility machines within the factory premises.
• Monitor performance and health of key machinery including Quartz Oven , Press Machine , and Polishing Machine .
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, assess root cause, and implement corrective measures to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and service schedules.
• Follow all safety protocols , ensure lock-out/tag-out procedures are adhered to during electrical repairs and high-risk maintenance work.
• Coordinate with production and plant management teams to prioritize tasks based on urgency and production requirements.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering .
• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment, preferably in Quartz / Artificial Stone / Engineered Stone industries.
• Proficiency in handling tools and machinery such as hand grinders , gearboxes , hydraulic and pneumatic systems , pumps , quartz ovens , and press/polishing machines .
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis .
• Experience with arc welding , gas cutting , and machine greasing.
• Ability to interpret machine manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance guidelines.
• Sound knowledge of industrial safety standards and best practices.

What You Will Do

Provide comprehensive technical support in the matters of equipment maintenance/servicing, diagnostic, repair and commissioning, ensure the highest-quality relations between the Customer, represent the Company in the eyes of the Customer and be always ready to answer any existing questions within the scope of their competence, in the area of their responsibility.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders during the life cycle of products and solutions delivered or serviced by RRS.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on all MTU and DDC engines, electronic/ electrical control systems and gen-sets to the required RRS standards. Ensure reliability of all repairs and maintenance works.
• Train, guide and transfer technical knowledge to local technicians and engineers during site visits and repairs.
• Ensure 100% customer satisfaction with job performance & through positive interactions with customers.
• Answer technical queries and support entire area of responsibility in a swift and competent manner.
• Prepare and establish technical reports and notes during shop and field jobs required in report preparation.
• Contact and coordinate required action within the internal organization to resolve technical tasks.
• Record and report all executed works accurately as well as used parts/ consumables for invoicing purposes
• Take ownership of all technical support cases and follow through until conclusion to ensure customer satisfaction
• Provide data to support failure and root cause analysis.
• Conform with & abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures & instructions
• Represent RR SME in the most professional way and be able to take decisions while in the field.
  
  

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, preferably in Controls, Automation OR Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience and product knowledge on MTU engines/systems is mandatory
• Preferably 3-5 years' experience in a similar role with any Rolls Royce Subsidiary, partner or distributor.
• Ability to prepare and interpret report with decision making and problem solving skills
• Knowledgeable in MS office for report preparation.
• Knowledgeable in SAP is good to have.

POSITION PROFILE

Job Title: Mechanic Supervisor
Reporting To: Field Superintendent
Division: Oman

JOB SUMMARY

The Mechanic Supervisor's responsibility is to ensure electrical plant and equipment at all rig sites, Base and Camp are being operated and maintained to an acceptable OEM, industry/regulatory standard.

INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

Field Superintendents, Rig Managers and Electrician Supervisor.

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

Oxy Drill Site Managers (when applicable)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Review preventative maintenance reporting to ensure scheduled completion and make recommendations on findings when required.
• Assist with the preparation of new PMS packages when required.
• Provide instruction, coaching and supervision to rig site and base electricians.
• Appraise rig site and base electricians by means of Ensign's procedures and documented appraisal forms.
• Report on rig and base site plant and equipment suitability and condition.
• Ensure rig and base site plant and equipment is being maintained and operated within the OEM's acceptable parameters and meets industry/regulatory standards.
• Provide recommendations to enhance operational performance by means of plant and equipment selection, operating parameters or maintenance procedures.
• Provide technical input where plant and equipment is being repaired, re-furbished or replaced.
• Establish correctly isolating procedures for the safe maintenance of plant and equipment and ensuring that all relevant personnel are aware of these practices and procedures.
• Report directly to the Field Superintendent on all aspects of mechanical related issues and maintains a visible commitment towards safety.
• Participate in the PEM Group meetings when available.
• Undertake other assignments as directed by the Field Superintendent.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• The Mechanic Supervisor shall be certified or trade qualified to perform mechanical repairs and installations. He is specifically authorized by the company to STOP any unsafe activity at his place of work regardless of who is involved in such activity.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

The employee may be directed to perform other duties outside those already described in this position description. This includes carrying out rig housekeeping tasks at the well site/Ensign Base or, when the rig is undergoing maintenance, as directed by the Rig Manager.

The employee will not be asked to perform duties that their supervisor believes they are not qualified for, or duties that may compromise the safety of the employee, their team, or any other persons involved with the operation.
