What You'll Do
At Viasat Energy Services in Oman, you will oversee country-wide field operations servicing predominantly Oil and Gas customers on land and offshore. You will manage a dynamic team of field technicians, vehicle fleet, and overall day-to-day operations to meet internal and customer commitments.
The day-to-day
- Directly oversee and guide the field operations team, ensuring proper training and equipment
- Plan and assign tasks, manage schedules, and ensure timely completion of work
- Facilitate communication between field teams, other departments, and management
- Resolve conflicts and address issues in the field and with the team
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Provide on-site safety training and guidance to the field operations team
- Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of company assets and vehicles
- Report vehicle, safety incidents, or hazards promptly and create reports for Ops
- Coordinate with Area Manager, HSE, P&C, and participate in planning and execution of operations and projects
- Manage resources, ensuring adequate spare equipment, consumables, and materials
- Create and submit equipment/material cost estimates for purchasing and AFE creation
- Work closely with OPS WIL, Global Purchasing, and Finance teams
- Monitor project progress, quality, and performance against goals
- Prepare and submit regular reports on field activities and project status
- Ensure work meets quality standards and SLAs
- Identify and resolve problems during field operations
- Provide training and development for field staff
- Manage project budgets and control costs, implement cost-saving initiatives
- Interact with clients or stakeholders as needed
- Ensure accuracy of equipment inventory and safeguard assets
- Review and approve timesheets and overtime for payroll processing
- Collaborate with local regulators (Oman TRA, Chamber of Commerce, ROP, vendors, customs, etc.) for successful operations
What You'll Need
- Strong managerial skills, with at least 5 years managing a team of 5 or more
- Omani national required
- Experience in Field Operations and Project Management
- Experience in Telecommunications, preferably with VSAT and networking equipment
- Experience in Oil and Gas field operations with local operators

Our **Field Specialists** focus on the vital technical and operational procedures that ensure our sites are safe and our customers get exceptional service. You will receive intensive instruction in troubleshooting, safety, and client interaction to develop a deep technical understanding of what we do. Through a combination of hands-on learning and formal training, you will become the company's representative on-site, with supervisory responsibility, working through a range of complex, practical challenges and developing innovative strategies to solve them.
As a **Field Technical Analyst** , you will provide technical expertise to teams across the site and use your knowledge to help them deliver exceptional service. Using a variety of tools and techniques, you will apply your theoretical understanding to the practical challenges we face on-site every day. This includes creating formation evaluation logs and helping to analyze and interpret cuttings to determine rock type and hydrocarbon presence. You will also help monitor the well parameters and maintain sensors to understand well conditions. An extensive development program will expand your technical knowledge and hands-on skillset.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform operations, operate equipment, and be accountable for team wellsite performance by the end of your training
+ Manage field operations, including engineering design, maintenance, job planning, and operational reporting
+ Learn the well construction process and understand the role of different service companies
+ Support engineers and specialists on-site and help with essential duties, such as risk analysis
+ Effectively manage a crew and/or processes within a year
+ Help prepare wellsite reports and post-job debriefings
+ Actively contribute to continuous improvement culture across the business

A typical day involves preparing the site for gas turbine maintenance, including dismantling components such as casing parts, bearings, and pipelines, while ensuring accurate documentation of dimensions and findings. The day concludes with reassembling components, performing alignment checks, and conducting final inspections to ensure compliance with standards before handover.
How You’ll Make An Impact- Maintain and update tools and work equipment, ensure secure handling of internal software, and enforce to processes and specifications.
- Perform outage preparation, site setup, tool control, and dismantling of noise enclosures, thermal insulation, electrics, and safety devices.
- Disassemble casing parts, couplings, bearings, and seals; record dimensions and perform runout checks on gas turbine rotors.
- Refurbish external components such as oil pumps, oil coolers, and turning devices; supply to findings documentation and NDT examinations.
- Reassemble combustion system components, gas turbine parts, and pipelines; ensure alignment and conduct concentric run-out tests.
- Perform final cleaning, inspections, and dimension recording of closed gas turbines; compile tools and prepare for transport or customer handover.
- Proficiency in using and maintaining tools, work equipment, and internal software while adhering to specified processes and standards.
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in gas turbine disassembly, reassembly, and component alignment.
- Ability to perform dimensional recordings, runout checks, and contribute to NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) examinations.
- Expertise in refurbishing external components, such as oil pumps, coolers, and turning devices, with attention to detail.

- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
