Our team is also interested in business problems - building things reliably, efficiently and cost-effectively, and we have to learn to speak the language of our customers and their industries.

We help global companies embrace public and private cloud infrastructure, cloud native operations, and open source applications. For this team we are looking for several Alliances Engineers to support OEM (hardware manufacturers), GSI (global system integrators), ISV (independent software vendors), Channel partners and Public Cloud alliance partners. You will support various alliances and partners of Canonical to adopt our products and technologies, help business leaders to define joint go-to-market programs with partners from the technical standpoint.

What your day will look like

  • Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking and services in real-world environments
  • Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark either On-Premises or in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Architect and integrate popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra and NGINX
  • Help partners to offer and architect joint solutions utilizing Canonical's technologies on top of the public clouds and in the data center
  • Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations with various partners
  • Prepare and run onboarding sessions/workshops with various partners' teams to promote Canonical products and solutions

What we are looking for in you

  • Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, software automation
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions on top of public or private clouds

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • High motivation, ability to multi-task and follow-up reliably on commitments

Role Overview

The purpose of this position is to provide for the repair, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of electronic equipment used for security screening and cargo detection at various locations throughout the ports of Oman. The Field Service Engineer will use independent judgement and discretion to ensure all facets of safety protocols are followed and that screening and detection equipment is operated and maintained at the highest level of efficiency and reliability. The employee is expected to relocate to/between various operational sites in Oman as required by the needs of S2 Muscat.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site periodic and scheduled maintenance of a variety of electronic equipment including cargo screening devices and systems.
  • Understand usage of the Digital Multimeter and AC (Alternating Current) and DC (Direct Current) and see how these operate.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic systems and subsystems to include x-ray imaging systems, power supplies, computers, computer peripherals, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems using technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints and service documentation.
  • Perform moderately complex electronic technical functions related to testing, modification, and assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical components and systems.
  • Work from documentation such as schematics, diagrams, notes, production, prints and layouts.
  • Able to troubleshoot computer hardware problems, update software configurations from written instructions or with guidance from support personnel.
  • Utilize normal and specialized electronic and mechanical test equipment including oscilloscopes, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus.
  • Handle on-call requests for the repair of equipment due to malfunction or failure. Determine when repairs require more expert capability and determine when assigned equipment is unserviceable.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in the operation, capabilities and support of assigned electronic equipment and provide product and operation training to supervisors and operators.
  • Follow prescribed maintenance procedures and ensure that parts and tools needed to support and facilitate repairs are readily available. Advise superiors on the appropriate storage of parts and tools and ensures that all parts and tools are tracked and appropriately inventoried.

Role Overview The purpose of this position is to provide for the repair, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of electronic equipment used for security screening and cargo detection at various locations throughout the ports of Oman. The Field Service Engineer will use independent judgement and discretion to ensure all facets of safety protocols are followed and that screening and detection equipment is operated and maintained at the highest level of efficiency and reliability. The employee is expected to relocate to/between various operational sites in Oman as required by the needs of S2 Muscat. Responsibilities Conduct on-site periodic and scheduled maintenance of a variety of electronic equipment including cargo screening devices and systems. Understand usage of the Digital Multimeter and AC (Alternative current) and DC (Direct current) and see how these operate. Troubleshoot and repair electronic systems and subsystems to include x-ray imaging systems, power supplies, computers, computer peripherals, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems using technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints and service documentation. Perform moderately complex electronic technical functions related to testing, modification, and assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical components and systems Will work from documentation such as schematics, diagrams, notes, production, prints and layouts. Able to troubleshoot computer hardware problems, update software configurations from written instructions or with guidance from support personnel. Utilizes normal and specialized electronic and mechanical test equipment including oscilloscopes, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus. Handle on-call requests for the repair of equipment due to malfunction or failure. Determine when repairs require more expert capability and determine when assigned equipment is unserviceable. Serve as the subject matter expert in the operation, capabilities and support of assigned electronic equipment and provide product and operation training to supervisors and operators. Follows prescribed maintenance procedures and ensure that parts and tools needed to support and facilitate repairs are readily available. Advise superiors on the appropriate storage of parts and tools and ensures that all parts and tools are tracked and appropriately inventoried. Completes paperwork and documentation such as service reports, radiation surveys, parts requisitions, etc., on-time and error free. Make recommendations to superiors on ways to eliminate or ease field maintenance or operational problems. Qualifications Analytical/ Independent judgement skills and expert knowledge regarding safety protocol is followed and screening detection equipment is operated and maintained reliably. Possess University Degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering is of first preference, including electronics or relevant technical skills. Have at least 3 years work experience in conducting mechanical/technical work and repairmen and maintenance of equipment's including electronic systems. Possess English proficiency to include reading, speaking and writing. Must have a driving license and maintain a clean driving record for purposed of insurability. Pass an employment security investigation background check, and a drug screening test.

Job Summary:

To safely execute installation, maintenance, repair, trouble shooting and commissioning of heavy-duty Gas Turbine machinery and its auxiliaries by working closely with Project /Site managers and Engineering department.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering certification.
  • Minimum 5 years' field experience in installation, maintenance and performing schedule inspections on GE make heavy duty gas turbines of Frame 3,5,6,7&9.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and/ or any languages will be added advantage.
  • Technical and mechanical knowledge of Gas Turbine and its related auxiliaries. Basic knowledge of Gas turbine operation.
  • Basic knowledge of site safety requirements and procedures.
  • Willing to work on both onshore and offshore sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Planning, control, and Co-ordination of site activities, aim to complete job in given timeframe.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety requirements, follow safety standards and procedures.
  • Leading and managing the site crew - foreman/supervisor, EHS personnel, technicians, and third-party contractors.
  • Inspection of received parts, removed Gas turbine components and reporting.
  • Prepare procedures, schedules, daily reports, inspection/outage reports and to submit on time.
  • Attend customer daily outage meetings, pre and post outage meetings.
  • Prepare lessons learnt at end of each outage and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure correct replenishment of tool container and valid certification of tooling.
  • Ensure crew have necessary valid safety certifications prior to site deployment.
  • To be cost conscious.
  • Ability and willingness to work on holidays, weekends and overtime when required to achieve targets.
  • Willing to be deployed around the globe.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Mostly CNC machines and pressure testing benches, various cranes, other equipment's and utilities. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal equipment performance, minimize downtime, and support production efficiency through preventive and corrective maintenance practices. Additional responsibilities include electrical maintenance and maintenance engineering to ensure the smooth operation of all machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

CNC Machines:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on CNC machines (e.g., milling, turning, 5-axis).
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
  • Calibrate and align machine components to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure machine readiness.

Pressure Testing Benches:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing pumps.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues related to valves, seals, gauges, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure all pressure testing equipment complies with safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate logs of machine inspection, calibrations, and maintenance schedules.

General:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support and training to machine operators as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automation systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards related to equipment maintenance and testing.
  • Certification in machine maintenance or pressure testing is a plus.
