The primary purpose of the Technical Support Engineer role is to ensure the effective deployment, maintenance, and support of our fleet management hardware and software solutions. The role involves a combination of hands-on hardware integration, technical troubleshooting, and customer interaction to deliver high-quality service and ensure customer satisfaction. This position plays a critical role in enhancing the functionality of our products by collaborating with internal teams and external partners, providing valuable insights for continuous improvement, and supporting our clients in optimizing their operations through the effective use of our solutions.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Project Implementation Support (Hardware)
- Integrated and assembled GPS devices and other vehicle accessories according to customer requirements.
- Create configurations for devices based on specific needs.
- Collaborate with hardware manufacturers to address bugs and resolve issues.
- Work closely with the system development team to implement improvement ideas and resolve bugs.
- Lead new installation projects, including maintenance, repair, and removal tasks.
- Provide guidance and support to technicians during installations and troubleshooting.
- Handle various customer requests and inquiries regarding our system through the Zoho Ticketing system.
- Provide customers with insights and recommendations to optimize their operations by analyzing system data.
- Collaborate with other teams to enhance company processes, particularly in ERP improvement.
- Conduct training sessions for clients to ensure effective use of our solutions.
- Conducting internal training for the team to enhance the quality and build up teamwork
- Conduct usability testing to gather valuable insights for enhancing the user experience.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure that software tools meet quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in hardware and software technical support, preferably in fleet management or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of GPS devices and vehicle accessories.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with Teltonika devices and Zoho Ticketing system is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- willingness to travel for on-site installations and support when necessary.
- Availability to provide support during weekends, post-working hours, and public holidays in case of emergencies.

The company is founder led, profitable and growing. We are hiring an Alliances Field Engineer to help our biggest partners (companies like Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, Tata and the like) understand and embrace our open source platform for themselves and their customers.
Our worldwide field engineering team apply expert insights to real-world customer problems, enabling the enterprise adoption of Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps and a wide range of associated technologies. We are experts in the whole open source stack, from kernel to desktop, from cloud to the edge. Our team is also interested in business problems - building things reliably, efficiently and cost-effectively, and we have to learn to speak the language of our customers and their industries.
We help global companies embrace public and private cloud infrastructure, cloud native operations, and open source applications. For this team we are looking for several Alliances Engineers to support OEM (hardware manufacturers), GSI (global system integrators), ISV (independent software vendors), Channel partners and Public Cloud alliance partners. You will support various alliances and partners of Canonical to adopt our products and technologies, help business leaders to define joint go-to-market programs with partners from the technical standpoint.

Location : This is a home-based role, we are hiring worldwide.
What your day will look like
- Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking and services in real-world environments
- Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark either On-Premises or in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Architect and integrate popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra and NGINX
- Help partners to offer and architect joint solutions utilizing Canonical's technologies on top of the public clouds and in the data center
- Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations with various partners
- Prepare and run onboarding sessions/workshops with various partners' teams to promote Canonical products and solutions
What we are looking for in you
- Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, software automation
- Experience designing and implementing solutions on top of public or private clouds
- Python and bash understanding, troubleshooting skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- High motivation, ability to multi-task and follow-up reliably on commitments
- Interest in customer-facing engagement, including pitching, demonstrating and understanding customer environment and needs
- Interest in new technologies like LXD, Juju and Snaps
- Ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related technical field experience

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Senior Field Engineer will:
Responsibilities- Provide specialist mechanical advice and input and resolve any mechanical related queries from the site construction team.
- Provide proficient and accurate design input to produce mechanical drawings. Adopt and follow various work procedures, systems, practices, plans and protocols to ensure deliverables are met to a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure all dealings with Client, Vendors and other external stakeholders are professional and in line with ethos of the business.
- Work collaboratively with personnel across all business units.
- Ensure site construction is carried out to a high standard in line with Company, Client, regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Provide sound technical advice to the project in the resolution of mechanical related technical queries.
- Ensure that the installation and construction of the field infrastructure are aligned with the project and contractual requirements by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
- Prepare specifications for equipment and materials purchase.
- Resolve any malfunctions with regards to the field engineering infrastructure.
- Witness critical construction and pre-commissioning activities of the construction contractor and sign off on the equipment check sheets.
- Assist as required the Commissioning team to hand over sub systems and operating systems for ore commissioning.
- Attend and participate in field engineering staff meetings where issues are discussed and resolved.
- Perform accurate engineering design and calculations.
- Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes.
- Liaise with and provide professional support to drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
- Develop technical documentation including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelines.
- Encourage and build a positive workplace culture and team environment.
- Advise the relevant Manager immediately of any safety or environmental, community or industrial relations incidents as per approved Company policy and procedures.
- Adhere to Company policies and obtain the appropriate internal approvals prior to making any contractual commitments.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives within the construction team which support the business’ continuous improvement.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritise where necessary to achieve agreed deliverables to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Register and file all relevant documentation in accordance to the Company approved procedures.
- Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
