Overview

Sr. Process Engineer shall manage all the Process Engineering activities including designing, implementing, and optimizing various processes related to oil production and produced water treatment.

• Develop and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for oil and gas facilities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction.
• Conduct simulations and modelling to optimize process parameters, equipment sizing, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Evaluate the performance and integrity of equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and separators.
• Conduct technical studies and analyses to troubleshoot process issues and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of process equipment and systems.
• Implement and maintain process safety management systems.
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments, including HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies.
• Identify and mitigate process safety risks to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
• Comply with environmental regulations and develop strategies for waste management and emissions reduction.
• Participate in project teams and provide technical expertise during the design, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Develop project specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for process-related activities.
• Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering documents, and operating procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of process data, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in process engineering software applications and modelling.

The Process Engineer will report directly to the operation director

The job is office-based at Muscat HQ, with frequent well site visits.

• The Lead Process Engineer is engaged in the design, preparation of specification, data sheets and analysis of Process engineering requirements on a project.
• Review and approve key process documentation from EPC Contractor(s) to ensure proposed designs meet the technical requirements of the project
• Support on tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work
• Planning and supporting on Process engineering design for field process engineering requirements, preparation of basic design, data sheets, specifications, support on design deliverables, FEED and detailed design of the process part of the project
• Ensuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system
• Co-ordination with Project team and client
• Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and pre-qualification documents in what relates to Process engineering design
• Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers and Process Discipline Manager
• Assimilating the evolution of new products and technology, and updating oneself on the latest international standards in terms of engineering design practices and their applications
• Identifying new methodology of work process required for higher productivity
• As Lead Discipline Engineer, when assigned on projects, responsible for managing the team of engineers, designers, and delivering the engineering requirements of the project
• Operational experience especially in RFCC and HCU. The candidate shall also have experience in Process Optimization, Feasibility Studies, FEED, Design, Commissioning, and Performance Testing.

Role Synopsis

As a Process Engineer Intern, you will support the gas plant's process engineering team in daily operations, technical studies, and improvement projects. This internship provides hands-on exposure to gas processing facilities, offering the opportunity to apply engineering fundamentals, learn industry standards, and develop problem-solving skills in a real operational environment.

Key Accountabilities

Assist in monitoring plant performance and analyzing process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.

Support troubleshooting of process upsets and operational challenges under supervision.

Assist in both updating and preparing process documentation such as operating procedures, process flow diagrams, and engineering reports.

Essential Education
