Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Construction Supervisor, Earthworks to join our growing project team in Oman.
Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, this role will be responsible for the accurate, timely and professional delivery of project deliverables in accordance with the company, client and projects requirements.
The tasks you'll perform- Maximize the productivity and efficiency of the Earthworks construction teams through planning, scheduling and the appropriate allocation of resources to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Manage the quality of output produced from the Earthworks construction teams to ensure deliverables are met to high-level of accuracy and in accordance with Project, Client and regulatory standards
- Monitor contractors’ progress; contract schedule to ensure key milestones are being achieved. Report immediately on matters that might affect the project goals.
- Ensure all dealings with Client, Vendors and other external stakeholders are professional and in line with ethos of the business.
- Communicate with the Construction Superintendent and provide weekly reports, updates and feedback with regards to the construction to ensure productivity is in line with schedule and time constraints.
- Comply with instructions given for your own safety and health and that of others, in adhering to safe work procedures.
- Ensure the safety of the construction site by conducting regular inspections and publish the findings.
- Govern the Earthworks construction team to ensure compliance to Company and Client policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Technical certificate / higher education qualification, diploma or diploma in construction management (desirable) or equivalent experience in the industry.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisor role (civil/earthworks works) in mineral processing and/or related industries in international projects. Ideally site based.
- Experience in EPC/EPCM/Client/Owner is desirable
- Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and sound knowledge of HSE policy and procedures.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal employees.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while consistently producing high-quality deliverables.

The tasks you'll perform

- Provide specialist mechanical advice and input and resolve any mechanical related queries from the site construction team.
- Provide proficient and accurate design input to produce mechanical drawings. Adopt and follow various work procedures, systems, practices, plans and protocols to ensure deliverables are met to a high-level of accuracy.

- Witness critical construction and pre-commissioning activities of the construction contractor and sign-off on the equipment check sheets.
- Assist as required the Commissioning team to hand over sub systems and operating systems for ore commissioning.
- Attend and participate in field engineering staff meetings where issues are discussed and resolved.
- Perform accurate engineering design and calculations.
- Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes.
- Liaise with and provide professional support to drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
- Develop technical documentation including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelines.

- Advise the relevant Manager immediately of any safety or environmental, community or industrial relations incidents as per approved Company policy and procedures.
- Adhere to Company's Policy's and obtain the appropriate internal approvals prior to making any contractual commitments.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives within the construction team which support business' continuous improvement.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritise where necessary to achieve agreed deliverables to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Senior Site Contracts Engineer to join our growing team in Yanqul, Oman.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Senior Site Contracts Engineer will provide specialist advice to ensure the designated project is delivered professionally and safely in line with Company, Client and industry requirements.
The tasks you'll perform
- Oversee the output of the Contracts team to ensure that they are up to a high standard in line with the Company, Client, regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Ensure that specific contract management activities are conducted to the highest quality, ethical and general business-standard.
- Provide guidance to Site supervisors and construction manager with regards to the Contractors scope of work and what may constitute a variation.
- Draft and circulate for approval Site Instruction and Contract Variations.
- Liaise with Contractors such that progress reporting and invoicing are received in a timely fashion and work to verify claimed progress as accurate.
- Ensure that communication with contractors, claims or disputes are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
- Assist with the creation, implementation and maintenance of Contract execution Procedures and Processes to improve overall efficiency.
- Provide accurate and timely advice on commercial matters.
