A Data Science Engineer manages large volumes of data and enables Vodafone to improve Customer Experience & business decisions. The role involves participating in the data lifecycle, including data collection, cleansing, integration, analysis, modeling with machine learning algorithms, visualization, interpretation of models and results, and reporting.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

• Execute statistical methods to solve specific business problems.
• Develop new data sources, test model enhancements, and fine-tune model parameters to improve methodologies.
• Design and develop automated forecasting systems.
• Construct customer-facing reporting tools to provide insights and metrics that track forecasts.
• Ensure models are well-developed, tested, trained, and implemented.
• Maintain the integrity and dependability of data for analytical purposes through processing, cleansing, and verification.
• Select features for data extraction, including constructing and optimizing classifiers using machine learning methods.
• Explore internally and externally sourced data to uncover insights and correlations.
• Manage data for constructing analytical systems.
• Support the adoption of data science and analytics across the organization, including at managerial, executive, and operational levels.
• Handle Data Lifecycle & Quality Assurance, including data collection, cleansing, integration, and validation across logs, Data Lake, Hadoop, and Greenplum environments.
• Ensure end-to-end data flow reliability with checkpoints, retries, and alerting via Prometheus/Grafana.
• Develop custom connectors, schema migrations, and housekeeping tasks.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

• Strong data analytics skills.
• Ability to translate data into insights that identify opportunities and threats.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good understanding of industry standards & best practices like ITIL, eTOM, ISO 2000, and ISO 27001.
• Experience with defining and implementing key operational processes in process management tools, such as event, incident, change, problem, and service management in the telecom industry.
• Good understanding of Service Management and Service KPIs/KQIs.

Must-have technical / professional qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or information technology from a recognized university or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in similar technology operations, managed services environments, or DevOps environments.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, SQL.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in data analysis or data engineering.
