Summary on the role:
This role leads and governs a business unit to achieve its financial and operational targets through driving sales, delivering technical support, and ensuring customer expectations are met—serving as a critical bridge between engineering, sales, service, and operations by blending technical knowledge with commercial insight—making it perfect for someone who thrives in multitasking, combining sales, strategy, technical tasks, and office work while collaborating within a dynamic, multinational team.
Job responsibilities:
- Drive business development strategy that includes local sales infrastructure, projects and growth opportunities.
- Direct and manage the short term and medium-term sales/business objectives for the country in order to meet and exceed orders and sales targets.
- Establish strategic alliances with end-users and OEMs, cultivating long term commitment and cooperation for mutual benefit and added value.
- Evaluate tender requirements and RFQ’s working closely with Commercial, Logistics and Legal teams to define right price levels and assure compliance and alignment with T&C’s.
- Manage and drive agent activity to improve partnership and business opportunities for both parties.
- Identify new business opportunities and grow existing customer relationships in various industries, such as oil & gas, chemical, mining, power and water, Pulp & Paper, F&B.
- Manage the entire sales process, from initial inquiry to delivery and after-sales support while providing technical support and clarifications.
- Discuss and support the negotiation of contract terms and tenders while managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Record and accurately maintain customer information, opportunity data in CRM (C4C);
- Assure correspondence flow and proper communication of Oman office with suppliers, customers, distributor and local authorities.
- Assist Finance in resolving payment issues in case of product discrepancies our inaccurate invoices.
- To provide technical support to customers/distributor and prepare notifications for non-compliances when and if required while meeting or exceeding sales targets and main KPIs.
- Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands.
- Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans, prioritize deliver accurate order forecasts.
- Responsible for exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self and others within the organization.
- Ensures compliance with the applicable HSE instructions, requirements, laws and regulations received from customers, regulatory and statutory bodies.
- Support service activity in country working alongside with the local service and workshop teams.
Qualifications
- University degree in mechanical engineering or similar field.
- 10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering qualifications and experience on sales & service.
- Experience in developing and implementing successful sales strategies.
- Proven experience in the industrial field of rotating machinery (Technical and Commercial)
- Knowledge of oil & gas, petrochemical and general industries highly recommended.
- Knowledgeable about ERP and CRM tools, SAP a distinct advantage.
- Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment is an advantage
- Willingness to travel frequently to client, site inspections, aiming business development.
- Valid driver's license.

- To lead a team of experienced salespeople, responsible for promoting & developing business for above
equipment.
- To be responsible for actively driving and managing business & daily sales processes.
- To be responsible for achieving set sales targets and profitability for each product line, by implementing &
administrating overall sales plans & strategizing activities conducted.
- To manage and support the sales team, setting targets including individual training plans.
- To ensure territory coverage in key areas of the market, by very closely working with sales team and
also by directly approaching the market.
- To assist, develop, initiate and follow up a business plan for the growth and development of Equipment &
Aftermarket business.
- To Identify personnel potential, competence gaps, design & fulfil training needs. To also Identify After-market
support needs for key clients and assign responsibilities to the service and support teams.
- To ensure that the sales team is complying with set processes and are performing their duties in line with
the same.
- To support sales with demonstrations and negotiations
- To maintain regular contact with customers, including key accounts in the market.
- To introduce new products into the market, be responsible for product launches, training and evaluation.
- To prepare weekly activity and monthly sales reports.
- To be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction
through all stages of the sales process, thru the sales team.
- Assess market conditions & accordingly procure stocks while ensuring a lean inventory aging.
- Continuously liaise with principal companies and maintain an excellent rapport with them.
- Constantly monitor market trends & formulate market plans.
- Continuously assimilate market data, closely monitor competition behaviour and estimate market share
information.
- Actively look towards expanding existing product portfolio, by acquiring newer products that bear synergies
with existing product portfolio, thereby contributing to the business unit's revenue growth.
- Regularly gather market intelligence and formulate strategies to cope with threat perceptions.
- To understand & follow Juma Al Majid Group policies and encourage the sales team to also be guided by it.
- To protect and present the company image in a professional and efficient manner
- Support the INMA Oman's vision "to be amongst the top three companies for machinery & heavy
equipment in the Sultanate of Oman" by contributing actively & continuously.
Principal Accountabilities:
1) Be responsible for achieving set sales targets and profitability for each product line, by implementing &
administrating overall sales plans & strategizing activities conducted.
2) Lead a team of experienced salespeople, responsible for promoting & developing business for above
equipment.
3) Be responsible for actively driving and managing business & daily sales processes.
4) Prepare Budgets for the Sales Dept. & assign annual targets. Completely administrate the Sales force assigned. Determine Pricing structure to optimise sales revenues.
5) Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
6) Continuously assess sales force requirements & initiate training/ recruitment actions.
7) Continuously liaise with the principal companies to negotiate pricing; stock ordering etc.
8) Assess all marketing activities and allocate appropriate resources to maximise revenues.
9) Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
10) Regularly and aggressively visit Key-clients and maintain a close contact with market trends /requirements.
11) Be able to organise /conduct technical seminars.
12) Trains and guides staff on product specifications and features.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, preferably with Post Graduation qualifications
- At least 15 years' direct sales experience and in a managerial position, selling and managing technical products.
- Good Communication and Presentation Skills, with ability to liaise effectively between the company & its principals.
- Good Computer Knowledge /analytical skills for formulating Strategies; Budgets; forecasting etc.
