Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled PCB Designer/Layout Engineer with a strong background in embedded software development and hardware engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design of printed circuit boards (PCBs)-from schematic capture and layout through to manufacturing and testing. This role requires a deep understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM), component placement, signal integrity, and the full PCB lifecycle, including collaboration with contract manufacturers.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of designing and delivering reliable, production-ready PCB assemblies and embedded systems for a variety of applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design and layout of multi-layer PCBs, including high-speed digital, analog, and power circuits using industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCAD, Eagle).

Team leadership, including oversight of junior designers and fresh graduates.

Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate schematics and system-level requirements into optimized PCB layouts.

Route complex signals, ensuring signal integrity, proper impedance matching, and minimal EMI/EMC.

Optimize component placement and board layout for thermal management, testability, and manufacturability.

Generate and review Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly documentation for fabrication and assembly.

Work closely with contract manufacturers for DFM analysis, board bring-up, and troubleshooting.

Develop and debug embedded firmware for microcontrollers and SoCs, interfacing with sensors, communication modules, and peripheral components.

Assist in hardware prototyping, validation, and testing of board assemblies.

Maintain comprehensive project documentation and version control of design files.

Provide input into the product development lifecycle from concept to mass production.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of hands-on experience in PCB design, layout, and embedded firmware development.

Strong proficiency with at least one major PCB design software (e.g., Altium, KiCAD, Solidworks PCB).

Proficient in C/C++ or similar languages for embedded systems.

Experience with common micro controller families (e.g., STM32, ESP32, ARM Cortex-M).

Solid understanding of hardware design principles, including power management, noise reduction, and signal integrity.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including PCB fabrication and assembly standards (IPC, DFM/DFT).

Demonstrated experience working with contract manufacturers and managing the manufacturing pipeline from prototyping to mass production.

Strong analytical and debugging skills, with hands-on experience in lab tools (oscilloscopes, multimeter, logic analyzers).

We are hiring an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Nizwa, Oman. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and equipment. You will also be in charge of overseeing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing electrical systems and equipment
- Overseeing installation and maintenance of electrical systems
- Conducting tests and inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met
- Troubleshooting any issues that may arise with electrical systems
- Collaborating with other engineers and team members to improve existing systems or develop new ones
- Staying up-to-date with industry advancements and incorporating new technologies into designs

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of electrical principles, codes, and standards
- Proficiency in CAD software for design purposes

Salary: 1600 USD/month (negotiable based on experience)

Responsible for supporting and execute general engineering activities directly linked to Electrical engineering.

Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

7+ years of experience in electrical maintenance work in the oil & gas or power generating industry with a minimum of 5 years in an Electrical Maintenance Engineer position.

Special Skills:

• English language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) to IELTS level 4.
• Able to work with computers, including Word, Excel, and Windows, with a good understanding of CMMS.
• Conversant with hazardous area electrical equipment.
