Position: Patient Care Lead
Location: Muscat, OMAN
Position Purpose:
The Patient Care Lead (PCL) will lead and manage the Patient Care Team in implementing and managing drug access program(s) in the region, as well as providing operational guidance for access program(s) in the region upon request. The jobholder is required to help represent Axios in daily meetings with patients and doctors and carry out administrative duties which will be both field and office based.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage the Patient Care Team in managing drug access program(s) by liaising with hospitals, pharmacies, and patients.
- Liaise with Axios Regional and HQ Teams as needed.
- Ensure eligibility criteria for the different programs are being respected.
- Ensure all processes are conducted in accordance with Axios SOPPs.
- Ensure that eligible patients are enrolled in the program(s) in a timely manner and in accordance with the project workflow and timelines.
- Collaborate with the Axios team to pre-empt challenges and ensure continuous improvement of Axios operations.
- Ensure that current patients receive their drugs quickly and efficiently.
- Prepare timely monitoring reports (monthly) with patient numbers and logistics as well as quality assurance reports (quarterly) for internal use. This includes monitoring and tracking patient files in collaboration with Axios staff in “real time” as patients proceed through the program.
- Maintain and update electronic program files, including patient and quality assurance data.
- PV reporting and reconciliation.
- Attend and complete Pharmacovigilance, Pharma, and Product Training provided by the Client with a clear understanding of how to collect and report safety data.
- Report any adverse events/product complaints as per client’s requirements and/or Axios SOPPs.
- Conduct administrative duties for the office.
Relationships:
- Work closely with program team members.
- Maintain ongoing and frequent communication with project team leaders including Axios regional and global staff.

Educational Background and Experience:
- A degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field.
- 1 to 2 years working experience in a healthcare or scientific field or NGO is ideal.
- Good command of both spoken and written English.
- Experience in data monitoring and management is an advantage.
- Experience coordinating and handling logistics/supply chain is a plus.
- Experience in customer service management is a plus.
- In lieu of working experience, a demonstrated passion for philanthropy through volunteer involvement is also an advantage.

Requirements: Experience in medical claims, audits, or insurance fraud detection, and prior experience working in GCC healthcare are must-haves.
Job PurposeTo lead and manage medical claim audits, fraud investigations, and risk mitigation strategies by leveraging clinical and analytical expertise to detect, prevent, and recover fraudulent claims. Ensure cost containment, compliance with health insurance guidelines, and maintain the integrity of provider networks.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth audits of inpatient and outpatient claims to identify irregularities and fraudulent patterns.
- Investigate suspicious claims from providers or insured members and provide reports with findings and recommendations.
- Perform retrospective reviews of claims and recommend recovery actions where applicable.
- Utilize clinical background and health policy knowledge to evaluate the appropriateness of treatments and billing.
- Work closely with medical providers, claim processing teams, and IT to detect fraud and mitigate risks.
- Analyze large volumes of claims data to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
- Prepare detailed investigation and audit reports including recovery amounts, analysis findings, and fraud prevention measures.
- Develop and maintain dashboards for savings, turnaround time (TAT), and fraud indicators.
- Assist in provider evaluation, credentialing, and price negotiations based on performance, audit findings, and service delivery.
- M.B.B.S. or B.A.M.S.
- Certification in Fraud Detection, Health Insurance, or Risk Management.
- Minimum 5–7 years in medical claims, audits, or insurance fraud detection.
- Proven track record of successful fraud investigations and recoveries.
- Experience working in GCC healthcare insurance system.
