Financial Analysis & Reporting – Development & Customer Insights

We are seeking a results-driven Financial Analysis & Reporting to join our team. This role supports both the Development and Finance functions by delivering accurate financial analysis, insightful reporting, and business planning support. The ideal candidate will also contribute to improving customer experience through data-driven insights and efficient complaint management.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and turning data into meaningful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management reports and dashboards with detailed variance analysis of key KPIs including sales, profitability, cash collections, and receivables.
  • Identify performance trends and explain variances against budget and forecast, offering actionable insights.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to consolidate and validate financial and operational data.
  • Enhance reporting processes through automation and improved data integrity.
  • Maintain and update financial databases and dashboards to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Support quarterly forecasting and annual business planning in collaboration with Finance and Development teams.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports related to sales, inventory movement, receivables, and cash collections.
  • Handle ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from management as required.

Customer Data Insights & Complaint Analytics

  • Coordinate and route customer complaints to the appropriate departments, ensuring timely handling across all functions.
  • Monitor complaint resolution status and follow up to ensure timely closure.
  • Provide exception-based reporting on delays, unresolved issues, and non-compliance cases, escalating critical matters to senior management when needed.
  • Analyze trends in customer feedback, complaints, surveys, and service performance data to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the Voice of the Customer (VOC) Team Lead in survey design, customer profiling, and tracking of action items from the VOC Governance Group.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the Complaint Management Platform (CMP) and Survey Management Platform (SMP), preparing regular summaries.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to the complaint resolution process and customer experience tracking.

Candidate Profile

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Preferred: MBA in Finance, ACCA qualification, or CFA Level 2 candidate.

Experience

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in a finance role, with exposure to business or investment valuation.
  • Strong background in data analytics and financial presentation.

Technical Competencies

  • Financial accounting and investment valuation

  • Reporting, dashboard creation, and data visualization

Interpersonal Competencies

  • Effective written and verbal communication in both English and Arabic

We have an urgent requirement for a Financial Analyst with strong banking experience to analyze financials and cash flows, and conduct sensitivity analysis for a bank in Oman.

Requirements include:

  • Extensive experience in analyzing financials and cash flows (actual and projected) and conducting sensitivity analysis.
  • Strong expertise as a financial analyst in banking or financial institutions.
  • Proven experience in ratio, trend, and cash flow analysis.
  • Experience in preparing financial models for projection and forecasting purposes.

The position is directly on the payroll of the bank.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist Relationship Managers, Unit Heads, and Department Heads in preparing credit proposals, memos, and related reports.
  • Assess the financial worthiness of existing or prospective clients.
  • Examine financial transactions and histories, including applications, statements, balance sheets, and legal documents.
  • Complete ratio, trend, and cash flow analyses and create projections.
  • Provide a multidimensional perspective on proposed lending in an accessible manner and in line with approved formats.
  • Determine the degree of risk involved in financial transactions.
  • Analyze data carefully and produce clear, objective reports.
  • Monitor exposures for compliance and early warning signals.
  • Monitor corporate portfolio asset quality continuously.
  • Adhere to financial policies and guidelines.
  • Draft financial models that predict trends and patterns.
  • Ensure all activities comply with the bank’s policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in related initiatives and projects as assigned.

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting plays a key role in overseeing financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with the relevant IFRS and local regulatory requirements and enhancing financial reporting accuracy. This role involves participating in the strategic planning process and co-ordinate the budgeting and forecasting process of the Bank.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting and Regulatory Compliance
  • Prepare/Review the skeleton financial statements for both Consolidated and Islamic and discuss and get approval for changes, if any, from Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, Head of Finance and the auditors of the Bank.
  • Prepare/Review the Bank’s financial statements for both Consolidated and Islamic, both quarterly for FSA as well as annual financial statements, in compliance with IFRS/AAOFI framework, based on the skeleton agreed as above.
  • Co-ordinate with the statutory auditors for smooth completion of the quarterly reviews and audit within the prescribed deadlines and in compliance with the statutory regulations. Also interacting with other departments for the smooth flow of information as requested by the external auditors for the completion of their work.
  • Prepare the Board presentations, rating agencies presentations and preparing any other information requested by Board or Executive management.
  • Review of the investment sheet on a monthly basis and preparation of the investment performance summary for inclusion in the EMC and ALCO meeting
  • Supporting in the BBB and General insurance (Property Insurance, Cyber Crime, EEI Policy, CGL and Travel Policy) annual renewals
  • To adhere to the FSA, MSX and CBO guidelines for the financial reporting.
  • To ensure the year end deliverables of annual report, summary annual report, MD&A both in English and Arabic are completed in an efficient and timely manner
  • To spearhead all Arabic translations of the Bank on a quarterly and annual basis
Investment Accounting and Operational Support
  • Preparing the monthly investment portfolio sheet in coordination with the Treasury Bank Office (TBO) using the reports received from them and ensuring that the portfolio is up-to date and complete and all the entries relating to purchase, sale of equity, gain or loss on sale of investments, dividend received and revaluations have been accounted for on a timely basis
  • Recommending the GL accounts opening in the core banking systems for investment related activities on TBO request.
  • Assist product team and IT department for any product development in the system by providing GL parameters / accounts / involvement in testing
  • Driving the automation initiatives for the financial reporting team
  • Submitting the quarterly and annual financial statements in the FSA XBRL Portal to ensure compliance with the reporting requirement
  • To perform variance analysis and monitor movements in the BS and PL on a quarterly and annual basis and keep the reasons for the movement ready for responses for CBO and the audit team
  • Publication of the financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis as per CBO/MSX requirement
  • Year-end liaising with regulatory reporting and CBO team.

Technical Knowledge and Professional Development
  • To keep abreast of the latest changes in the IFRS and AAIOFI to enable effective Financial Reporting
  • To keep updated on the changes in FSA/MSX or CBO guidelines in relation to the financial reporting.
  • To improve understanding of bank’s policies/procedures
  • To coordinate with HR/IT for regular training on updated versions of the systems used
Compliance, Budgeting, and Interdepartmental Coordination
  • To ensure compliance with Bank rules & regulations & staff conduct policies
  • To liaise with CBO examiners jointly with Management Accounting team and coordinate with other departments in order to provide required information and provide all returns / forms required from Finance Department.
  • To assist in the Annual Business Budget / Plan.
  • To maintain the operational standards and safeguards the Bank from loss and fraud.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting with minimum 3-5 years in financial reporting as per IFRS, preferably in a Bank or listed companies with total of 5 years of working experience.
  • Professional qualification like ACCA/CA/CPA would be an added advantage. Candidates pursuing ACCA/ CPA or Master’s degree can also apply
  • Strong communication and engagement skills – written, oral and presentation
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, MS Project.
