Full Job Description

To strategically manage, lead and deliver a world class Supply Chain based on best practices to ensure a competitive advantage for Al Khalili; and continually reduce costs through proficient resource planning and deployment for timely movement of goods both inbound and outbound as well as efficiently manage the warehouse. The GM of Logistics should also build credibility, gain market share, and enhance customer satisfaction in the market place for the logistics division while being responsible for the overall P&L of the Logistics Division

Responsibilities:

Strategic

Develop the business plan and budget for the Logistics Division to provide strategic direction.

Develop a comprehensive business plan and market strategy including product strategy, market positioning, sales & channel strategy, and business alliances.

Ensure business continuity through seeking new business opportunities in the logistics field.

Develop and ensure implementation of standard operating procedures for the Logistics Division.

Work closely with the marketing department to develop, establish, and direct channel and distribution strategies and programs.

People

Encourage a unified culture and approach amongst the Logistics Division team members to reflect the overall organizational vision of Al Khalili.

Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Logistics Division employees. Coach, and provide opportunities for continuous learning and development.

Propose and suggest development plans for Logistics Division staff members to ensure enhanced performance.

Develop highly qualified, motivated and goal-oriented employees; bringing them together as a powerful team that achieves immediate and long-term business objectives.

Promote ethical practices, integrity and a positive work climate to enable the business to attract, retain and motivate suitable employees

Operational

Manage the various logistics division service offerings according to the strategic direction of Al Khalili and the Logistics Divisions business plan.

Market the position Al Khalili’s logistics division as end to end supply chain services provider (third party logistics/ 3PL & 4PL)

Build the revenue stream to achieve the set targets and establish strong client relationships with key clients.

Measure the success of the Division and create management reports that communicate the financial and operational progress of the business line.

Establish and maintain effective business relationships with key clients to leverage on market and pricing opportunities.

Lead all aspects of sales cycles, including opportunity identification, analysis, and due diligence; to drive the presentation of proposals for RFP’s, and commercials.

Build relationships and work closely with senior management (CxO level) within the existing and prospective client accounts to understand complex business requirements and consult, advice, and position services.

Formulate and implement account management plans and proactive service plans to ensure customer satisfaction, retention of business, and identification of new opportunities.

Monitor the development and management of client service level agreements across all service offerings both with internal and external clients.

Spearhead the resolution of service issues; leveraging internal teams as appropriate.

Develop pricing policies, including; volume discounts, and terms and conditions, for internal clients, and external high profile customers, and channel partners.

Manage overall sales process’, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management.

Work closely with the Chief Purchase Officer in managing complex contract

negotiations, and provide and seek advice as appropriate.

Establish relationships with customs, ports, agents and government authorities to better position Al Khlili’s logistics business division.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

Masters degree with 8-10 years experience in Supply Chain Companies, preferably 5 years in similar position.

Training and/or certifications in Logistics Management of Procurement.
