Full Job Description

- Job Description:

1-Handling the entire gamut of legal processes respect to motor claims, starting with reviewing motor claims files, Collating information, and producing documents ensuring all pleadings, procedures, negotiations and settlements are delivered in line with claims policy, legal and regulatory requirements and Insurance policies as per the prescribed timelines.

2-Contribute to the establishment of legal department processes and procedures; ensure company’s compliance to various legal statutes governing the business in the sultanate of Oman.

3-Ensure proper documentation of all cases is reported in a timely and appropriate manner, provide complete and full information with respect to liability accruing due to legal cases, ensure the court decrees are administered as per the directives, prepare and submit periodic reports as may be necessary.

4-Review company contracts; provide legal support to ensure that all commercial contracts are adhering to the applicable legal statutes governing such contracts in the Sultanate of Oman.

5-Provide legal assistance and advice as and when required to other departments, with respect to drafting legal contracts, review files and documents and provided appropriate course of action that needs to be taken in the reported instances,

6-Liaise with empaneled legal advisors, review the legal cases, provide necessary support and documentation as may be required in a timely manner to ensure adherence to the legal processes.

7-Maintain positive relationships with the courts, government entities and regulators in Oman. Ensuring actions highlighted by the regulator are addressed in a timely manner, Liaise with external customers, discuss the facts of the case in a professional manner, adhere to the company’s policies and procedures with respect to such discussions, provide legal inputs to CEO with respect to the company’s view point of the case, suggest viable solutions to complete the case within reasonable timeframe.

8-Deliver training programs to department members, with respect to broad legal outlook to ensure that employees are fully aware of the legal implications whilst executing their daily functions.

9-Any other duties and responsibilities as instructed by your line manager.

- Qualification:

· Bachelor degree in law, preferably with a business qualification.

· Up-to date knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirement and best practice standards related to similar companies and background in insurance contract issues.

· Good drafting skills and communication (oral and written) skills in both Arabic and English with an eye for detail.

· Excellent working knowledge of the legal processes prevailing in the Sultanate of Oman

· Fluent in English Language, ability to deal with different stakeholders in Oman and Internationally.

- Experience:

· 10 years’ experience in a commercial environment and /or a legal practice with a focus on Motor Insurance, corporate and commercial law.

· Experience as Board Secretary and having adequate Sharia’a knowledge to manage the Sharia’s board secretarial duties.

· Experience in handling with various legal firms, local and international legal cases.

· Experience in handling cases at the local courts. (Primary, Appeal supreme courts, and Public Prosecution).
